Meanwhile, some of the politicians criticizing him have spent 30, 40, or even 50 YEARS IN WASHINGTON.

They watched the national debt grow.

They watched manufacturing decline.

They watched infrastructure age.

They watched healthcare costs rise.

And they watched public trust in government deteriorate.

Yet many remained firmly entrenched in the political system.

You can criticize Trump.

You can dislike his personality, his policies, or the way he governs.

THAT’S FAIR.

But pretending that one person walked into Washington and created every problem America faces ignores an important reality:

MANY OF THESE PROBLEMS WERE ALREADY DEEPLY ROOTED BEFORE TRUMP ARRIVED.

Accountability should not depend on political party.

It should not depend on whether someone is popular.

And it certainly shouldn’t stop with the person currently sitting in the Oval Office.

Canadians fought in WORLD WAR I, WORLD WAR II, KOREA, THE GULF WAR, AND AFGHANISTAN — sharing battlefields, sacrifices, and enormous human costs with their allies.

So when political rhetoric reduces Canada to a country that supposedly “DOESN’T HAVE A MILITARY,” it ignores more than a century of service and sacrifice.

Allies can disagree.

Nations can compete.

But HISTORY SHOULD NOT BE ERASED FOR POLITICAL MESSAGING.

Canada has repeatedly demonstrated that when its allies went to war, Canadians were willing to STAND, SERVE, AND FIGHT ALONGSIDE THEM.

CANADA MAY NOT HAVE AMERICA’S MILITARY SCALE — BUT IT HAS A MILITARY, A HISTORY, AND A LONG RECORD OF SACRIFICE.

But families don’t experience the economy through charts.

FINE.
