Pride is a celebration of resilience, visibility, and progress. It is also an opportunity to reflect on the ongoing work to advance equality, dignity, and opportunity for all.

At the NYC Mayor's Office of Equity & Racial Justice, we remain committed to fostering a city where every New Yorker, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression, can live safely, authentically, and with a true sense of belonging.

We're proud that two outstanding leaders from the NYC Mayor's Office of Equity & Racial Justice, Taylor Brown and Priya Nair, have been named to City & State's 2026 Pride Trailblazers list. This recognition highlights their inspiring work advancing equity, inclusion, and opportunity across New York City.

This measure looks beyond basic expenses to account for housing, healthcare, childcare, taxes, and more to give a clearer picture of what New Yorkers need to get by.

During , we honor the legacy of Black debutante balls, a tradition rooted in resilience, community, and the advancement of young women.

At a time when Black families were excluded from many social institutions, these events created meaningful spaces to celebrate achievement, affirm dignity, and invest in future leaders through mentorship, scholarship, and civic engagement.

That legacy continues today through NYC Her Future In partnership with NYC Schools’ My Sister’s Keeper program, they are helping to build confidence, expand opportunity, and strengthen community for young women across New York City.
