“Dolphin Playground is a reminder that the Port Authority’s work is more than moving people across towering bridges and massive airports,” said Port Authority Executive Director Kathryn Garcia. “It's also about being good neighbors to the communities around our infrastructure and the families who call them home. We’re glad to reopen these gates again and to carry forward the spirit of community that has always made this playground special.”
The Port Authority was created to do big things.
Sometimes, that means rebuilding and maintaining one of the world's busiest bridges and other times it means investing in the community that lives beside it.
Located in the shadow of the George Washington Bridge, Dolphin Playground has been a beloved part of the Washington Heights community for generations. We're proud to welcome families back to this special neighborhood gathering place.
Welcome back, Dolphin Playground.
