Filipino American Democratic Club of New York Filipino Americans shaping New York’s future🗽
Est. 2016

The Filipino American Democratic Club of New York (FADCNY) is a political club that organizes and leads the Filipino American electorate in New York City and New York State. We are dedicated to advancing Filipino American and Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) issues and priorities among elected officials and candidates for public office. Our main priorities include the promotion of a progre

ssive platform of the Democratic Party and fair and just representation for Filipinos in politics and government. The Club welcomes participation from all New Yorkers interested in supporting Filipino American & AAPI priorities. To achieve our mission, the Club will organize and unite the Filipino American community and those who support their issues and priorities to: vigorously participate in the electoral process through canvassing and Get Out the Vote operations; register voters who support the Club’s mission; evaluate candidates for elected and appointed public office and actively support those candidates who best promote the Club's mission; identifying leaders for appointments and elections within the Democratic Party at all levels, ranging from judicial delegates, county and state committees, to district leaders, presidential primary delegates, and national committees; increasing the number of Filipino Americans who are engaged in civic leadership through appointments to various local boards and committees, positions such as community boards, community education councils, precinct community councils, neighborhood advisory boards, and community action boards; and actively support the election and appointments of progressive Filipino American and AAPI candidates. In addition, the Club will organize public events such as candidate and issue forums; evaluate pending legislation, adopt public positions, and advise the Filipino community and the public at large of the Club's recommendations; build coalitions with other organizations that support the Club's mission; and increase the Club's visibility and influence by advocacy, community action, and organizing.

Yesterday, we joined our neighbors under the 7 train at Bliss Plaza to show up in full force for Steven Raga for State Senate!

Even at the last minute, our community came out, from nurses and home health aides to nannies, caregivers, and service workers, alongside union members, small business owners, students, and grassroots organizers from Little Manila to Elmhurst, Maspeth, Astoria, and Sunnyside.

This is what Filipino political power in Queens looks like. Working people, organized and ready. Steven is already doing the work, delivering results, and showing up for our neighbors every day. Now we’re ready to send him back to Albany, this time to the State Senate. 🌐

Join us on Sunday, November 2nd, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 5:00 PM in and around Jackson Heights for a Day of Action to help elect the first Filipina elected official and judge in New York.

We’ll kick things off with a rally at 12:30 PM to grab literature and get assignments before dispersing to poll sites to talk to voters and hand out materials. As we close out the final day of early voting, let’s make it count.

📣 Our club is proud to announce FADCNY’s 2025 General Election slate of endorsed candidates!

Heading into November, many of these leaders earned our support during the primaries and are joined by new candidates who share our vision for an inclusive, equitable, and empowered New York.

Together with coalition partners like Filipinos for Zohran, we’re co-sponsoring canvasses, phone banks, and get-out-the-vote efforts across the city and beyond. ☎️🗳️

Filipino American History Month traces a long arc of struggle and contribution that began with the 1587 landing of Filipinos in Morro Bay, California, and continues through the Delano Manongs’ leadership in the farmworker movement, the fight of Filipino World War II veterans for long-denied recognition, and the political and cultural writings of Carlos Bulosan.

It also honors Vicki Manalo Draves, who broke barriers as the first Asian American Olympic gold medalist, and the generations of Filipino nurses who have sustained the U.S. healthcare system. In New York, these histories endure in communities that continue to organize, create, and care, shaping a more just and inclusive society.

This month is both a commemoration of past struggles and a call to recognize Filipino Americans as central to the nation’s ongoing pursuit of equity and dignity.

It’s never been more important to know who you are and what you stand for.

That’s why the FilAm Dems of New York are stepping into this election season with a renewed purpose, a refreshed identity, and an updated mission and values that reflect the movement we’re building.

As Filipino Americans, we have cared for this city. Our people have sacrificed so we could build our lives here. Yet when it comes to the city’s most important decisions, we’ve been left out of the room.

We were founded to ensure Filipino Americans have a seat at the table: our voices heard, and our power felt.

The FilAm Dems of New York are here to advance Filipino American visibility in politics, build strong coalitions, and shape a democracy rooted in fairness, equity, and opportunity for all.

We mobilize our community to participate fully in civic life.
We fight for fair representation in public office.
We champion progressive values of equity and opportunity.
We stand in solidarity with AANHPI, immigrant, labor, and allied communities.

And we do this with authenticity, joy, and new energy that redefines what political engagement can look like.

This has always been more than just politics—this is about power, pride, and shaping the future of New York together, as Filipino Americans.
