For more than two years, Israel has faced accusations of genocide before the ICJ. Now, the Court has granted South Africa an additional 18 months to submit its reply, pushing merits proceedings even further into the future.

Genocide is the gravest allegation in international law. It should never be treated as a political slogan or public relations tool. Such claims demand compelling evidence, rigorous legal analysis, and adherence to due process.

A New York City synagogue was allegedly targeted by an Iran-backed terror operative.

Federal prosecutors allege that Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood Al-Saadi worked to coordinate attacks against Jewish targets as part of a broader terrorist network spanning multiple countries.

This case is a reminder that antisemitic terrorism is not confined by geography. It is organized, networked, and increasingly transnational.

Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said the NYPD’s security plan for Sunday’s Israel Day Parade will be the “most extensive” in the event’s history.

While we are grateful that the NYPD is taking the safety of Jewish New Yorkers seriously, it is deeply troubling that such extraordinary measures are necessary simply to ensure that Jews can gather openly and safely.

Enhanced security may help protect the community in the short term, but it does not address the underlying problem. Until New York confronts and meaningfully combats the antisemitism driving these threats, the need for unprecedented security will remain the norm rather than the exception.

As Israel expands operational control in Gaza following the elimination of senior Hamas commanders embedded within civilian infrastructure, international pressure campaigns are once again attempting to portray counterterrorism operations as unlawful aggression.

But international law is clear.

Under Article 51 of the UN Charter, Israel has the right to defend its citizens against an armed terrorist organization responsible for the October 7 massacre and ongoing attacks. International law does not grant immunity to terrorist leaders operating from tunnels, apartment buildings, or densely populated civilian areas.

Hamas’s systematic use of civilian infrastructure for military operations is itself a violation of the law of armed conflict and the prohibition on human shielding.

The U.S. Department of Justice has officially sued University of California, Los Angeles, accusing the university of fostering an “antisemitic hostile educational environment.”

The federal complaint alleges UCLA acted with “deliberate indifference” toward harassment, discrimination, and physical violence targeting Jewish and Israeli students, including permitting a “Jew exclusion zone” where students wearing Jewish symbols or perceived as Israeli were blocked from accessing parts of campus.

The lawsuit argues that denying Jewish students equal access to campus life is not protected activism, but a failure to uphold basic civil rights protections.

This marks the second major DOJ lawsuit against the UC system this year over alleged systemic failures to protect Jewish students from antisemitic discrimination and harassment.
