We need to know if our air is safe to breathe. Ulster County expanded the Hudson Valley Community Air Network to provide real-time air quality information in towns all over the County. Now you can get notifications about local air quality at 18 sites in Ulster County.

COOLING CENTER ACTIVATION ❄️

The Ulster County Department of Emergency Services will activate cooling centers beginning Monday, July 13 through the evening of Friday, July 17, from 9 AM to 7 PM daily.

The Cooling Centers are located at 2nda Iglesia La Mision Church, 80 Elmendorf St., Kingston, and the Trudy Center, 50 Center St, Ellenville.

Anyone in need of shelter from the heat is welcome at the Cooling Centers. For general heat-related assistance, call or text the Family of Woodstock Hotline at (845) 679-2485. You can also call the Cooling Centers directly at (845) 224-9262.

Did a wonderful tour with some of my colleagues of a house being built on Doris Street in Port Ewen by Habitat For Humanity. What great work Habitat does for people who usually wouldn’t be fortunate enough to buy a house. Home ownership is one of the biggest parts of the American dream and Habitat For Humanity makes the dream come true for some.
