Attention Neighbors - I regret to share that our office has once again been flooded out over the weekend. Despite the building being brand new, we cannot continue to be flooded out by every rainstorm and do the cleanup, mold remediation, etc. (The Council does its own cleanup and mold remediation after the landlord does the initial cleanup and mold work, which is often sunstandard.) The Council's cleanup and mold remediation is paid for by taxpayer dollars and I cannot continue to justify that expenditure.
Therefore, we will be moving to a new location once we find one. We may seek temporary space for constituent meetings. We will let you know. For now, we will be closed for in-person services until further notice. My office is still able to assist you via phone at (718) 217-4969, or via email at [email protected]. Thank you for your patience.

Attention Neighbors - My office is aware of the tragic incident that occurred at a construction site on Tudor Road. My thoughts are with the victim’s family, loved ones and coworkers during this incredibly difficult time.

The NYC Dept. of Buildings (DOB) has issued a Stop Work Order at the site, and I fully support keeping this project shut down until a thorough investigation into this tragedy is completed. Worker safety must always come first.

I’m proud to have secured millions of dollars in the Fiscal Year 2027 City Budget to support the residents and neighborhoods of Council District 24.

From investing in our local schools and healthcare facilities to supporting nonprofits, cultural organizations, street cleanup services and other important community institutions, this funding is about making sure our district gets its fair share and that those dollars are put to work where they can make a real difference.

In this video, I’m highlighting just some of what we were able to deliver this year, including $3 million for a new Welcome Center at Queens College, major investments in NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens, funding for our local schools, expanded street cleanup services and support for organizations serving our community.

This is by no means the full list, but I’m proud of what we were able to accomplish for District 24 in this year’s budget.

Take a look at some of the highlights!

I was proud to join the NYPD 107th Precinct for National Night Out Against Crime yesterday!

We are grateful to the dedicated men and women of law enforcement who work every day to keep our communities safe. Events like National Night Out are an important opportunity to bring neighbors and police officers together, strengthen relationships, and build the trust and community partnerships that help keep our neighborhoods strong and safe.

Thank you to the 107th Precinct and everyone who came out for a great evening!
