Special thanks to our in-house, Special Education Teacher, Stacey Meyers!

Special education teachers in Early Intervention work closely with families and other professionals to identify a child's needs and develop a comprehensive plan for their education and development. They use a variety of strategies and techniques to teach children skills such as communication, socialization, and problem-solving, helping them overcome the challenges they may face due to their disability or delay.

The first few years of a child's life are critical for their development, and the interventions provided during this time can have a lifelong impact. By working with children and their families at this critical stage, special education teachers can help set them on a path to academic and social success.

1 in 10 babies are born premature worldwide (before 37 weeks). Without effective care, they are at high risk of life-threatening health conditions like respiratory distress, infections, and hypothermia, which together lead to hundreds of thousands of preventable deaths each year. Prematurity can cause problems for babies throughout their lives. The earlier a baby is born, the more likely they are to have health problems. Some of these problems may not show up for several years, even into adulthood. Finding and treating health problems as early as possible and preventing preterm birth when possible can help babies lead longer, healthier lives.
