Spotlight - Booker Geez

Erik Malcolm Bishop, who goes by the pen name Booker Geez, is the author of the recently published book “Locked Up and Put Away, my 10 years as a juvenile counselor” and is the founder and CEO of LUPA Justice. A graduate of Delaware State University Erik worked for the Department of Youth and Family Services, a division of the Administration for Child Services, in New York City. He has worked as a Youth Advocate for 4 years at Leake & Watts which is a residential treatment program for troubled youth. He has worked in secure and non-secure facilities working with adolescence with mental illness. His unrelenting commitment to this population is endless. In 2018 he was put on the Manhattan Borough President’s Task Force to Reform Rikers Island. “My goal with LUPA Justice is to educate today’s youth on the juvenile justice system and let them know their rights as American citizens,” he would say. Support Erik AKA Booker Geez and his team as they go to schools through out this country to end the school-to-prison pipeline.
