Hello Everyone,
My name is Terry Frost, and I am proudly running for Otter Tail County Sheriff. As a resident of Otter Tail County, I understand the values, concerns, and priorities of the communities that make this county such a great place to live and raise a family.
I have served as a licensed Peace Officer for the past 16 years, dedicating my career to protecting and serving the citizens of west-central Minnesota. I began my law enforcement career in 2010 as a part-time officer with the New York Mills Police Department and Perham Police Department. In 2012, I joined the Wadena Police Department as a part-time officer before transitioning into a full-time role.
In 2014, I began serving part-time with the Wadena County Sheriff's Office and became a full-time Deputy Sheriff in 2015, where I continue to serve today. Throughout my career with the Sheriff’s Office, I have gained extensive experience in many areas of law enforcement, including criminal and traffic enforcement, civil process, inmate transports, and courthouse security as a bailiff.
I have also had the honor of serving on the Hubbard/Wadena SWAT Team as both an Operator and Assistant Team Leader, where I worked alongside highly trained professionals in critical incident response situations. Currently, I serve as the Fi****ms and Taser Instructor for the Wadena County Sheriff’s Office and have proudly served as a K9 Handler since 2023.
Before and during my law enforcement career, I dedicated 14 years of service to our country and state through the United States Marine Corps and the Minnesota Army National Guard. As a Combat Veteran, I learned the importance of leadership, discipline, teamwork, accountability, and service above self—values that continue to guide me every day in both my personal and professional life.
I believe strong leadership, integrity, accountability, teamwork, and selfless service are essential to building trust between law enforcement and the communities we serve. If elected Sheriff, I will work tirelessly to serve the citizens of Otter Tail County with professionalism, transparency, and dedication.
