Pursuant to La. R.S. 1:55(E)(2): Due to hazardous or otherwise unsafe conditions resulting for the inclement weather, the Jefferson Parish Clerk of Court's Offices will be CLOSED on Tuesday January 16th, 2024 and will reopen at 8:30 A.M. Wednesday January 17th, 2024.

This morning, I received a really nice message from Judge Johnny Lee at First Parish Court. Judge Lee told me that attorney Ralph Whalen, who had some matters pending in his division, praised the division’s minute clerks: Jena Banta and Lauren LeCron. Mr. Whalen said that their service was extraordinarily good ... they went above and beyond what is normally expected. THAT’S a really special compliment coming from a respected attorney, who took the time to give due credit to two of our own.

My deepest thanks to Jena and Lauren for their outstanding service to the bench, bar, and those members of the public who come before us. I also thank Judge Lee and Mr. Whalen for their professionalism and commitment to the administration of justice.

Jefferson Parish Clerk of Court invites you to become a certified election commissioner. The general course of instruction is open to the general public who meet these qualifications:

1. You must be a registered voter who does not require assistance in voting.

2. You must not be a candidate for election.

3. You must not have been convicted of an election offense enumerated in Chapter 10, Title 18, La. R.S.
