We wrapped up our week of RIT Operations with the firefighters. Led by Chief Jim Crawford, Lt. Steve Barton , Lt. Mark Williams, and DC Aaron Heller, each platoon worked on honing their skills to be there for each other. The theme of the week was to remember, “we are the only ones coming for us”! Thank you to DC Walsh of the Wakefield FD for all of the coordination and leg work to make the week such a great success. The greater metro Boston area has some damn good Firemen.

Our prayers are with the Boston Fire Department and the family and friends of Firefighter BK Kilduff. His loss is felt throughout the country because he was such a force. We especially send our love and support to our Boston FD instructors, Danny, Roger, and Mark. Godspeed 🙏🏼💔

Robert “BK" Kilduff, Jr. exemplified what it meant to be a union firefighter. BK was passionate about his profession, assigned to Rescue Company 2, and passionate about improving the lives of his fellow brothers and sisters, working as a staff member of the PFFM for the last 15 years.

More than anything else, BK was passionate about being a father. The PFFM sends all of our love and support to both of his children and will stand with Boston Firefighters Local 718 IAFF to ensure they have whatever they need.

The .simonton.fd.esd4 took delivery of their new Flashover Simulator and completed their instructor development course provided with each of these units. We shared the training ground with an outstanding group of dialed-in fire instructors ready to make big things happen here in Ft. Bend County!

A short preach- this is the bucket of soapy water that I soaked my helmet and gloves in following a gross decon after doing one day of live burns. After removing them from the bucket they get brushed down again and rinsed. We may never get rid of all the contaminants and potential carcinogens, but we sure can lessen the risk. Be smarter than we were years ago and do what it takes to extend your career and possibly your life!
