We celebrated 50 yrs of service for Duane Schallenberg and his family tonight. Duane started at New Douglas Fire department in Dec-1975.

As of right now, the burn band has been lifted for New Douglas. We've gotten word from the water company that the water has returned to safe levels. Thanks for all your patience and efforts to keep our community safe.

Due to extremely low water pressure in the area, a burn ban is now in effect for the New Douglas Fire District until further notice.

Please do not burn brush, trash, leaves, or anything outdoors during this time. Low water pressure can seriously impact emergency response if a fire gets out of control.

The New Douglas Fire Department has contingency plans in effect with neighboring departments if necessary.

Sealed bid sale.

The New Douglas Fire Department will accept sealed bids for a used generator and automatic transfer switch. Located at the firehouse. This item is being sold as is where it is. You are responsible for picking it up if you win the bid.

Items

1 Centurion 45kv generator. It ran on propane. Also comes with transfer switch.

We have replaced this with a new unit due to it having starting issues.

Please mail bids to P.O.Box 45 New Douglas IL 62074.

Your bid will need to be in by June 5th and will be opened on the June 8th meeting.
