Good morning, Henry County. I hope everyone is off to a great start this week.

From the very first day I filed to run for Henry County Clerk, I made the decision to run a clean, professional campaign.

With that said, I want to be very clear, I am in no way speaking negatively about our current Clerk, Jenny Grubbs. With her recent announcement of retirement, I want to sincerely thank her for her years of dedicated service. I have the utmost respect for her and wish her nothing but happiness and a well deserved retirement.

I also want people to understand that while I may be an outsider and see things that can be changed for the better, that does not take away from the great work that has been done. Having new ideas and a desire to improve how the Clerk’s office serves our community doesn’t mean the job hasn’t been done well, because it has.

I strongly encourage everyone to stay engaged and really think about their vote. As I’ve shared, I have plans that I believe will better serve the needs of our community, and if I am elected to be your next Clerk, I fully intend to implement those improvements.

My leadership style is not about one person, it’s about a team. I believe in leading from the front and by example. One of my first priorities will be sitting down with current staff, sharing the changes I want to see happen, listening to their input, and working together to make meaningful, effective changes.

I am confident we can build a strong, professional team that benefits both the citizens we serve and the office as a whole.

Again, I encourage everyone to get out and vote early if your schedule allows. I would truly appreciate your support.

Have a great week, Henry County, and try to stay dry.

Good evening, Henry County.

I hope everyone had the chance to enjoy the beautiful weather this weekend.

As I was scrolling through Facebook, I couldn’t help but notice how negative people have become toward one another. There’s a lot of unnecessary hostility in the world today.

As I continue my campaign for Henry County Clerk, it reminds me why I’ve chosen to run a clean, respectful campaign, and will continue to do so.

Too often, people lose friendships and even family relationships over politics. And for what? There are two ways to run a campaign: tearing others down, or focusing on what you stand for. I’ve chosen the second.

As I’ve said before, if elected, I look forward to building a positive, professional working relationship with the current employees in the Clerk’s Office.

From day one, I’ve been clear about my reasons for running, and I’ve stayed true to them. I believe there is room for improvement in the Clerk’s Office to better serve the citizens of Henry County, and that’s exactly what I intend to do.

As early voting continues, I encourage everyone to get out and vote for the candidate you believe will do the best job. Most importantly, participate, because every vote matters.

I hope everyone has a great week. It would be an honor to serve as your next Henry County Clerk.

As we are less than a month away from the May 5th primary election, I cannot stress enough how important it is to get out and vote for the leaders you believe will put citizens first. Early voting has already started, so you can cast your vote anytime between now and May 5th.

I want to thank the League of Women Voters for hosting the Meet the Candidates event last night, it was a great turnout. The New Castle–Henry County Chamber of Commerce has the event posted on their page, and I encourage everyone to take the time to watch it and decide for yourself who the best candidates are.

Since announcing my candidacy for Henry County Clerk, a small group of individuals has suggested that if you haven’t worked in an office, you shouldn’t be able to run for that elected position. Interestingly, many of those making that argument are individuals employed by the county. I strongly disagree. If that were the case, why would we even have elections?

Elections exist to bring fresh perspectives, new ideas, and strong leadership to move our county forward, rather than staying behind while surrounding counties continue to advance.

From the beginning of my campaign, I have said I want to make the Clerk’s Office more accessible to the citizens. That is your office, and there is no reason anyone should have to jump through hoops just to use it.

During my campaign, I spoke with a woman who shared that after her mother passed away, she had to take a vacation day from work just to file paperwork at the Clerk’s Office pertaining to the passing of her mother. Not only was she dealing with grief, but she also lost a day’s pay. That is unacceptable in so many ways.

Local government officials, all the way up to the President of the United States work for the people. The people do not work for the government.

My opponent has based her campaign on her years of experience, including serving as Chief Deputy for the past six years. I encourage you to ask: what positive changes have been made during that time? What ideas have been brought forward to and proposed to the current Clerk to better serve the citizens?

If you watch the forums, including Bosshog of liberty, the GOP Meet the Candidates event and the League of Women Voters forum, you’ll notice there has been no discussion of meaningful change from my opponent. That suggests a belief that she feels the office is functioning as it should, which we all know it isn’t.

This is not about attacking anyone personally, it’s about addressing complacency and recognizing that there is room for improvement.

Let me be clear: if elected, I look forward to working with everyone currently employed by the county, restoring a strong focus on serving the citizens, and making improvements that better meet the needs of our community.

I would greatly appreciate your support. I am a man of my word, and I am committed to serving the people of Henry County.

Henry County deserves leaders defined by their actions, not just their years in office.

Early voting starts tomorrow.

Take the time to do your research and ask yourself, are you satisfied with how the Clerk’s Office has been run?

If not, it’s time for change.

Leaders aren’t defined by experience, they’re defined by their actions. It’s time for leadership that will make the office more accessible, more efficient, and focused on serving you.

Choose action. Choose results, and results I will deliver.

I greatly appreciate everyones support, and good luck to all candidates.

As I reflect on the GOP Meet the Candidates event last night, I first want to thank everyone who took the time to attend. It was a great turnout, and I truly appreciate the opportunity to share some of my intentions if elected.

It’s extremely difficult to fully explain your plans and vision for an office within a 30-second time limit. Thirty seconds simply isn’t enough time to properly answer questions, especially when discussing meaningful changes that could benefit the community. Every candidate did the best they could with the time provided.

One thing I did find interesting was looking into the audience and seeing several employees of the Clerk’s Office present. While I was speaking about why I’m running and the improvements I will make, they seemed to find it amusing, while nudging each other and having side conversations among themselves. When I spoke about making the Clerk’s Office more accessible so people don’t have to leave work early or take an entire day off just to handle basic services like filing paperwork, obtaining a marriage license, paying child support, or paying fines, it was apparently funny or foolish to them.

I believe that needs to change.

If elected, one of my first priorities would be to extend office hours so they better serve the public, not just the employees. Government offices should work for the people, not the other way around.

I’ve also heard the argument that someone who hasn’t worked in a government office shouldn’t be able to run for the position. I strongly disagree. Leadership is not defined solely by prior experience in a specific role, it’s defined by vision, accountability, and action.

We see this in leadership positions everywhere. Many elected officials step into roles without having held that exact title before, yet they succeed because they listen, adapt, and lead effectively.

I’m not running for this office for the salary or because I need a job. In fact, I would be taking a significant pay cut. I’m running because I genuinely care about our community and improving services for the people.

There is so much more I plan to implement, ideas that couldn’t possibly fit into a 30-second response. I encourage everyone to do their own research. Look at Clerk’s Offices in surrounding counties, you’ll see many are more modern, efficient, and accessible than what we currently have.

As you prepare to vote, ask yourself this:

Do you want leadership that works for you, a leadership that adapts to your schedule and your needs? Or do you want to continue with the same tired system, where citizens are expected to work around the office’s schedule?

I’m ready to bring change, accountability, and accessibility to the Clerk’s Office, and I would be honored to have your support.

I encourage all to attend Meet The Candidates. I will be there to answer any questions you have. I will also be sharing ...

As many citizens in Henry County feel, it’s clear that our local government offices need change new ideas and, most importantly, new leadership. Too often, individuals are elected to these positions with the intention of becoming career politicians. These roles were never meant to be held by the same person for decades.

When someone remains in office too long, complacency can set in. When that happens, we begin to see the same problems that exist at higher levels of government we become stuck in the past while other counties continue moving forward.

Another serious concern is the development of “cliques” within government offices. This undermines fairness, transparency, and equal opportunity. For example, I find it troubling that there has never been a male hired in the Clerk’s Office. That raises valid questions about whether opportunities are truly equal especially when I, along with other male applicants, have applied multiple times.

This is just one example of why change is needed.

Our government offices are the backbone of a strong community. To truly serve the people, they must be open to fresh perspectives and new energy. Change isn’t just important it’s essential. Without it, we remain stuck. With it, we move forward.

Now is the time to be heard. Now is the time to make changes in our local government offices.

With current Clerk Jenny Grubbs retiring, now is the time for that change. That’s why I am running for Henry County Clerk to bring accountability, innovation, and a renewed vision for our community.

Let’s move forward, Henry County, together.

03/18/2026

As we get closer to the primary election, I want the residents of Henry County to clearly understand my intentions if elected as your next Clerk.

I would be honored to serve as Henry County Clerk, and I’m committed to making elections easier, more transparent, and accessible for everyone.

From extended office hours to improved online services like clear instructions for recording documents, obtaining a marriage license, and accessing downloadable forms I’m focused on making the Clerk’s Office more user-friendly for our community.

With clearer election information and better communication, I’ll be there to help every step of the way.

I would truly appreciate your support. Together, we can make the Henry County Clerk’s Office stronger and more accessible than ever before.

Don’t forget to vote on May 5, 2026!

03/13/2026

As I campaign for Henry County Clerk, I look forward to listening to residents, learning about your concerns, and understanding how the Clerk’s Office can better serve our community. Hearing directly from the people who live and work here is incredibly important to me, and those conversations help guide how we can continue improving services for everyone.

Also, I sit back and think about how there has never been a male hired at the Clerk’s Office. I have applied at least three times in the past when jobs have been vacant, and unlike any other employer, I never received as much as a letter or email stating, “Thank you for your interest in the position. However, we have decided to move forward with other candidates.”

Let me also add that, according to the Chief Deputy, it is my understanding that every job in that office is delegated to a certain individual. With that being said, the Clerk mainly supervises the office unless needed to fill in. Contrary to what people are saying that a person needs to work there for X amount of years before they should be able to run for the elected Clerk is absurd. That office will run just fine with whomever is elected as Clerk.

I can assure you that I will sit down with each delegated person and learn exactly what they do. With my leadership experience and Law enforcement experience, I could learn all positions in that office in a timely manner.

I truly value being part of this community and enjoy meeting the people who make it such a special place to live and work. Our county is built on strong families, dedicated workers, and neighbors who care about one another, and I’m proud to call it home.

I decided to run for Clerk because I believe public service should always put the community first. The Clerk’s Office plays an important role in the daily operations of county government, and it should operate with efficiency, accuracy, and respect for the people it serves. I am committed to being accessible, organized, and dedicated to carrying out the responsibilities of the office with care and professionalism.

I also believe in continually looking for ways to improve services, streamline processes, and ensure the office operates in a way that is both effective and accountable to taxpayers. Being open to change, growth, and new ideas is an important part of making sure the office continues to meet the needs of our community.

Our community deserves a Clerk who is dependable, organized, and committed to transparency. I care deeply about Henry County and believe in serving with integrity, professionalism, and accountability. I want residents to feel confident that their local government is working for them and that the Clerk’s Office is a place where people are treated with respect and fairness.

Serving this community would be an honor, and I am committed to doing the job with dedication, responsibility, and a strong sense of public service. If you see me out in the community, please don’t hesitate to stop and say hello. I would truly appreciate the opportunity to hear your ideas, concerns, and feedback.

I truly appreciate all your support! Without change, we risk complacency stuck in the past while progress waits. Let’s move forward together!
