Join the New Braunfels Fire Department on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 9–11 a.m., at Fire Station 7 (located at 357 FM 306) for a morning of family-friendly fun!

A Heat Advisory is currently in effect for New Braunfels.

Be sure to drink plenty of water, avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day, stay in the shade or air conditioning, check on neighbors and family, and never leave pets or children unattended in vehicles.

Follow the US National Weather Service Austin-San Antonio Texas for more weather updates.

A Heat Advisory is in effect today which includes the I-35 corridor and Coastal Plains. Hot temperatures and heat index values are anticipated. Take precautions if outdoors such as staying hydrated, taking breaks in the shade and wearing lightweight clothing.

This morning, the City of New Braunfels held a ceremony marking the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

The observance featured a ceremonial flag raising and lowering, an invocation, remarks from community leaders, a bell toll in tribute to fallen first responders, and a performance of Amazing Grace by the New Braunfels Firefighters Pipes and Drums.

It was a moment to remember the bravery, sacrifice, and unity shown during one of our nation’s darkest days.

On Friday, September 11, 2026, the City of New Braunfels will hold a ceremony marking the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. Read more information about the event in the post below.

On Friday, September 11, 2026, the City of New Braunfels will hold a ceremony marking the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

The event will begin at 7:25 a.m. and feature members of the New Braunfels Fire Department and New Braunfels Police Department Honor Guard, who will march from the downtown Central Fire Station on Hill Avenue to Main Plaza. The ceremony will begin at approximately 7:40 a.m.

The ceremony will include a flag-raising and lowering ceremony at 7:46 a.m., commemorating the time American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. The ceremony will also include an invocation, brief remarks from local dignitaries, and a bell ringing in memory of fallen first responders.

Traffic around Main Plaza will be closed beginning at approximately 7:15 a.m. Those attending the ceremony are encouraged to gather near the flagpole and bandstand.

The Do Good Heroes program honors public safety professionals who go above and beyond for their communities. She also received $1,000 to donate to a nonprofit of her choice and chose to support the New Braunfels Professional Fire Fighters Association.

Sign Up Your Neighborhood for National Night Out!

National Night Out is an annual event that strengthens police-community partnerships and fosters neighborhood camaraderie to help build a safer, more connected New Braunfels.

This is a great opportunity to get to know your neighbors a little better, celebrate your community, and promote safety. Neighborhoods can register their block party with the City for a visit by New Braunfels Police and Fire crews.

National Night Out will be on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. Visit newbraunfels.gov/nationalnightout for more info and to register your neighborhood.
