Founded in 2000 by Dr. Timothy Flanigan, Star Kids Scholarship Program founded in 2000, serving the Newport/Fall River area, quickly discovered many children eligible for the program in the greater New Bedford community. This contribution, combined with other funding that we have received, has allowed us to achieve our goal of expanding the Star Kids Scholarship Program in New Bedford. New Bedford Star Kids Scholarship Program became its own 501 (c)(3) in 2009. Joshua Pacos was appointed as the President/CEO of the New Bedford Star Kids Scholarship Program on January 1, 2024. With over 15 years of experience as an innovative educator and leader. New Bedford Star Kids students attend local schools including: All Saints Christian Academy, Bishop Stang High School, Bristol County Agricultural High School, Friends Academy, Global Learning Charter Public, Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School, Saint Teresa of Calcutta, Mullein Hill Christian Academy, Nativity Prep, Nazarene Christian Academy, Our Sisters' School, Saint Francis Xavier, Saint Joseph’s of Fairhaven, Cape Cod Christian Academy, Tabor Academy, Jireh Swift School, Saint Bridget's and Cardinal Spelman High School.
