We held Coffee Talk this week at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee on 16th Avenue North, bringing our expanded creative community together for conversation, connection, and a celebration of the next generation of young artists.

Guests had the chance to learn how the
Club uses art to support youth development, explore hands‑on activities
inspired by current student projects, and tour the recently renovated Clubhouse
which even has its own recording studio! We were excited to share updates about
in-progress Grants and Public Art initiatives, meet the new Executive Director of the
Entertainment Commission, and to hear from everyone who highlighted upcoming
events across Nashville’s creative ecosystem.

We’re grateful to the Boys & Girls Clubs Middle TN for hosting us, to FRUITFUL COFFEE CO for providing coffee throughout the morning, and to everyone who joined us and helped make
the morning so meaningful!

Metro Arts is hosting several upcoming opportunities for anyone seeking clarity, guidance, or support regarding the FY27 grants cycle. Join us for any of our Report Back Sessions, Drop-In Sessions, and a facilitated Grant Writing Support Session designed to help applicants strengthen their understanding of the process for our grants or others they may be working on. The Grant Writing Support Session is free and open to all but limited to thirty spots, so all attendees must RSVP in advance at the link below:

We got the grant! 📣

We’re so excited and honored to be the recipient of a 2027 Operating Support Grant from !

This support will help us pay our teaching artists a living wage, keep our programs accessible, and continue building a permanent home for traditional country music in Nashville.

We’re so grateful to Metro Arts and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County for investing in what we’re building. ❤️

Coffee Talk returns on Wednesday, September 9 from 9:30 to 11:00 AM, co hosted with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee at their Clubhouse (916 16th Avenue North).

Guests can hear how the Club uses art to support youth development, take part in a hands on activity inspired by current student projects, and tour the recently renovated space. Metro Arts staff will be available to discuss Grants and Public Art initiatives, and local artists are welcome to share updates about upcoming events. Free parking is available in the lot and on surrounding streets, and Fruitful Coffee Co. will have coffee availabke for purchase throughout the morning.

Voices of the Americas is more than a concert series, it's a chance to sit close to the people shaping Nashville's Latino music community and hear where their songs really come from.

On October 2, we're welcoming Elia Esparza, Hector Tellez Jr., and Juan y Ambar to Global Education Center for Latino Voices, an evening of songwriters in the round. Each artist takes a turn sharing the story behind a song, then plays it live, before passing it to the next.

Between them, they carry Mexican, Cuban, Colombian, and Peruvian heritage and a wide range of musical styles, from soulful pop to rock to acoustic songwriting duos. What ties them together is the journey of building a home in a new city, and the songs that came out of it.

This is the kind of night that reminds us why Global Education Center exists, to use the arts to bring people together across culture, and to give artists a room where their stories are honored.

Special thanks to La Cara Productions for curating this lineup, and to Metro Arts, the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, and the Tennessee Arts Commission for supporting this evening.

Latino Voices brings together songwriters with Mexican, Cuban, Colombian, and Peruvian roots for a night of songwriting in the round, a format where artists take turns sharing the story behind a song, then play it live.

It's intimate. It's real. And it's a beautiful reminder of how much richness lives inside the word "Latino."
