This Pride Month, David Prince, one of Second Harvest's Partnership Managers, shares a spotlight on one of our valued Partners. Head to our blog to read his thoughts on Nashville CARES, a Nashville institution founded in 1985 and a Second Harvest Partner since 2010. Through pantry services, a client choice store, and emergency food support, they work to connect neighbors affected by HIV with nutritious food and support.

LGBTQ+ individuals face disproportionately high rates of poverty and food insecurity, and Partners like Nashville CARES are essential to making sure all of our neighbors can thrive. We're so thankful for our partnership with Nashville CARES and for all of the work they do to ensure that individuals and families have equitable access to nutritious food, practical support, and compassionate care.

Since launching in October 2023, our Mobile Market has officially distributed over 2 MILLION POUNDS of food, which is more than 1.6 million meals, across 26 counties in Middle and West Tennessee.

Our Mobile Market travels directly into neighborhoods most impacted by food insecurity to deliver fresh produce, dairy, and pantry staples. Whether due to a lack of reliable transportation, proximity to a grocery store, or other barriers, these neighbors aren't able to easily access food, so we come to them.

In just over two years, we have made 765 stops and continue to grow. This exciting milestone wouldn't have been possible without our Partners, including; Legal Aid Society, TN Justice Center, Nashville Diaper Connection, Conexion Americas, TIRRC, Interfaith Dental, TN Dept of Health, Metro Office of Family Safety, Ascend Federal Credit Union, WellPoint, United Health Care, Delta Dental, SNAP Assistance, Goodwill Career Coach, UCHRA, and many, many more.

With your help, we can make this a Hunger Free Summer for kids in Middle and West Tennessee.

When school is out for the summer, families suddenly need to provide an extra 10 meals per child every week. For families already facing food insecurity, this additional stress can be difficult to overcome. Until June 30th, thanks to a generous matching gift, every dollar donated to our Hunger Free Summer campaign is doubled up to $400,000. That means your contribution goes further than ever toward nourishing children across Middle and West Tennessee this summer.

Our 2026 Stars For Second Harvest was a night we will never forget.

We made history this year, raising more than 1.7 MILLION MEALS to nourish and empower our neighbors across Middle and West Tennessee.

The evening featured a songwriters round that included HARDY, Dean Dillon, and Lee Thomas Miller, of course our host, ERNEST, who pours his whole heart into this event every single year. His unplugged rendition of Flower Shops had the entire crowd singing along every word. These songwriters are some of Nashville's most legendary voices behind some of country music's biggest songs, and we were honored they joined us. Last but certainly not least, our headliner, Ella Langley, delivered a performance no one in that room will forget.

To our incredible sponsors, Nissan, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Brasfield & Gorrie, CoreGiving, and FreshPoint, thank you for being the foundation of this night. And to the Ryman Auditorium there is no better home for an evening like this.

We are endlessly grateful for this community and everyone who makes Stars For Second Harvest what it is. Your generosity changes lives, and we are honored to do this work alongside you.

It's Impact Monday!

In May, we distributed 4,040,169 pounds of food, helping provide 3,366,808 meals to children, families, and older adults throughout our service area. While our volunteers donated a total of 5,171.25 hours and sorted 373,437 pounds of food to help get nutritious meals to neighbors in need.

Thanks to our volunteers, we composted 14,333 pounds of food with Compost Company and received 32,280 pounds of fresh food from local producers through our Farm to Families program. This food was distributed to our Partners serving communities across the 46 counties we serve.

Because of you, families throughout Middle and West Tennessee have access to the nourishment and resources they need to thrive.
