This Father’s Day, we celebrate the fathers and father figures who show up with care, consistency, and connection.

Whether through a comforting hug, a shared laugh, words of encouragement, or simply being present, these everyday moments help children build a sense of safety, belonging, and confidence.

Research continues to show what many families already know: caring relationships matter. Fathers and father figures play an important role in supporting healthy development and strong beginnings for young children.

Today, we recognize and appreciate the many ways you help children grow, learn, and thrive.

Happy Father’s Day from AIMHiTN 💙

As the week comes to a close, we invite you to pause and reflect:

What helped you feel supported this week?

Maybe it was a conversation with a colleague.
A moment of connection with a child or family.
A new idea.
A reminder that you're not doing this work alone.

In infant and early childhood mental health, we know that relationships matter. Not just for children, but for the adults who care for them as well.

Share a moment, person, or experience that helped support you this week. 💙

Supporting Child Welfare professionals and Foster Parents

Facilitating Attuned Interactions is a model from the Erikson Institute that promotes self-awareness of providers and increased attunement to caregivers that results in improved professional/parent relationships and improved service recipient outcomes. FAN has been a core framework for pediatricians, mental health clinicians, foster parents, home visitors, and child welfare professionals across the US. The model emphasizes slowing down interactions with service recipients to increase focus on relationships, which has been shown through research to decrease the amount of time for families to reach their identified goals. FAN is a huge asset to a number of TN's workforce sectors, and we're so excited to bring this opportunity to child welfare.
