I can't abide a bully. And I've always understood that usually the only way to deal a bully is to bully them back. That's why this story about the Bricks & Minifigs North America scandal is so nice to see getting mainstream media attention and continuing to blow up. Glad to see NewsNation covering it.
They have managed to at least put up the token facade of severing their relationship with 2/3 of the people who've nearly destroyed their company and unfairly put strain on their franchisees nationwide. Brandon Best and Joshua Johnson are out. (They may have a second store that's sliding under the radar, so this might be just another smoke and mirrors play from their CEO, Ammon McNeff.)
They're continuing to smear the prior franchise owner, and attempt to make all of this her fault, never mind their corrupt use of the American Fork Police Department via church connections, and the array of other terribly irresponsible and unethical choices they all made along the way. But the damage is done. Most people likely want out of this franchise.
As a brand guy, I wonder if they're even allowed to slap the LEGO logo on their stores like they do. It'd probably be a good idea for the LEGO to weigh in and straighten these guys out, alongside the media, all of us discussing it in the open, the influencers and commentators, and the courts.
It's been a satisfying ecosystem of bullying the bullies so far. Keep it up.
