What Is Juneteenth?
2024 marks the 4th Juneteenth Day of Observance. It celebrates when freedom finally came to the more than 250,000 enslaved people in Texas on June 19, 1865.

Juneteenth, short for June Nineteenth, is a holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. This significant day marks the moment in 1865 when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to announce that all enslaved people were free, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed.

Juneteenth festivities are a kaleidoscope of emotions – a time for solemn reflection on the struggles of the past, a day to celebrate the hard-won freedom of Black Americans, and a vibrant expression of Black culture and heritage. From bustling parades filled with music and movement to community cookouts overflowing with delicious food and laughter, Juneteenth is a powerful testament to resilience, perseverance, and the enduring spirit of a community.

QUESTION: Did anyone ask for a list of examples, names, dates, etc. of participants, floats, banners, narratives, flyers, etc. that dishonored veterans and Quote "Furthered their agendas than honoring veterans"? - Just curious.

I'm interested in hearing details, facts, dates, repeated policy failures, what were the corrective measures that were taken, changes to their applications, instructions, etc. that were then still ignored by these organizations/political groups?, etc.

Basically:
BEFORE YOU DENIED PEOPLE from participating in the memorial day parade What actions, communication, reprimands, etc. have been taken by your committee with past/current participants to mitigate this issue of organizations/political figures, etc. dishonoring veterans during previous parades.

Inquiring minds want to know🫤

The Greater Muskegon Memorial Day parade may be in jeopardy following pushback on the parade committee's decision to ban political figures and groups from the celebration.
