Don't fall for Scams!

SCAM ALERT

We became aware of a new scam targeting families of recently arrested individuals.

Scammers are posing as the Rutherford County Jail, providing real inmate information such as names and charges, then asking family members to send money through Apple Pay to have an inmate released.

Do not fall for it.

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office will never call and ask you for money. Bond and bail transactions are handled directly with jail staff on site.

Never send money through Apple Pay, Bitcoin, gift cards or other payment methods at the request of someone calling you. Never provide personal or financial information over the phone.

If you receive a suspicious call or have questions about a possible scam, call 615-898-7777.

Scammers may have real information. Always verify before you pay.

Labor Day is about honoring the people who built this country — with their hands, their sweat, and their solidarity.

Every weekend we get, every 8-hour workday, every safety standard on a job site — none of that was handed down. It was fought for and won by union workers who organized, marched, and stood together. Unions built America’s middle class, and in Tennessee, that fight isn’t history — it’s happening right now.

Saturday, I was proud to be marching in the Vonda McDaniel Nashville Labor Day Parade alongside the workers, families, and union members who keep our state running. From nurses to teachers to ironworkers, to tradespeople, working Tennesseans deserve leaders who will fight for fair wages, safe workplaces, and the freedom to organize.

Happy Labor Day, Tennessee. Here’s to the workers who built this state and the ones building its future.

Some of you have known me for years — Some of you know me through Rutherford County fights over warehouse development, the baseball field or just around town.

Now I’m running for Tennessee House District 37, and I could really use your support.
