This movement did not end on Election Day… The struggle of standing up for working class people continues and we’ll need your help for the fights ahead. Keep your heads held high friends, and be proud of all the work we have done to change the dialogue not just in this district or state, but highlighted key issues nationwide to give people real hope for a brighter future to believe in.
Thank you all who have supported this grassroots movement over the last year and a half of this campaign. As I hope you all know, this campaign was never about any one person, it was an issues-based movement that made a coalition of working people from all backgrounds. I am extremely proud of every single one of you that sacrificed so much, and put in blood, sweat and tears for this cause. I will be forever thankful. We put in the work, and there is still much work ahead. WE are not done here, and I am not going anywhere.
We’ve lost loved ones along the way, and also discovered new ones along the way as well! Together we made new connections, allies, and a network of progressive activists across the state fighting to create a system that represents all of us, not just the top one percent.
We will learn the lessons from this heartbreaking loss and do better next time because working deserve their voice in Congress and we must stand up to the injustices of this political system. For being a grassroots campaign that was massively outspent, and for being our first time running, we had an outsized influence on the conversation over several key issues and dragged many candidates and the party to the left. Be proud of that.
I just got off the phone with J.D. Ford for Congress to congratulate him on their win, and said that I look forward to working with him on key popular policies that we all hope he adopts for a better general election strategy to defeat Rep Spartz; give us a reason to fight for something and not just against. We talked about the possibility of his campaign supporting policies such as not sending our taxpayer money to Israel, abiding by our own Leahy laws, as they commit genocide in the Middle East (as designated by the United Nations and most international holocaust experts), we must learn the lessons of why we lost so many voters in 2024 and stand against the war crimes being committed overseas. We talked about the possibility of him supporting Medicare for all or other popular policies that working people can rally behind. I look forward to continuing this conversation and genuinely hope we can create a coalition to defeat Spartz this Fall. We have to give voters the energy to go out to the polls, our biggest enemy on election night is not the Republican Party, it is the couch, as last midterm most registered voters in Indiana did not vote. This must change for us to take back the House. I genuinely want JD to win against Spartz, and to do that we must rally the base and give a home the political homeless / disaffected so we can take this fight to DC.
This campaign was always about the issues, and there is much more fight for the working class people of this state left. We aren’t going anywhere and will see you all very soon. Solidarity forever.
PEOPLE OVER PROFITS! ✊
