Tomorrow's the "find him a home" deadline on this guy. He comes with references, and has some training (sits at the door to go outside), is microchipped, and neutered. Previous owners abandoned him roadside. He's about a year old, and I was told he's very gentle and sweet. HEADS UP!! There will be pedestrians on Highway 2 in the area of mile markers 179-181 (give or take a mile) west of Mullen during the late afternoon/early evening hours tomorrow, April 22nd. There will be a law enforcement presence there as well, so just a reminder about the slow down/move over law that will be enforced for the safety of the people keeping our community clean. Thank you for your help in this endeavor!

The "we have leftover asphalt" scammers are back in the area, so be aware. They aren't necessarily doing anything illegal, they just aren't doing things ethically. Poor quality, EXPENSIVE paving. They present a generic contract calling themselves 'Road Maintenance, LLC' or some facsimile thereof. The salesman drives a newer white Dodge Durango bearing Louisiana plate: 288JHY. There is at least one other vehicle involved, one being a white dump truck with trailer. If they cause issues, call law enforcement immediately: (308) 546-2290 in Ho**er County, or 911 for emergencies. Otherwise, simply ask them to leave your property and tell them that you're not interested. If you truly want paving done, call a reputable contractor and ask for local references.
