The Snohomish County Auditor announced this afternoon that the County Canvassing Board has certified the results of the November 4th general election. I can now formally announce that I am the new Mukilteo Councilmemember-elect for Position 2!

Thank you, Mukilteo! I am deeply honored and humbled by your support and trust in electing me to the Mukilteo City Council. Winning this election is a responsibility I take very seriously and I’m excited to serve and make a meaningful difference in our community.

First and foremost, I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who participated in this election. The voters, my fellow candidates, my family, and all those who supported this campaign, volunteered their time, and believed in our shared mission.

Your engagement in our democratic process is what makes Mukilteo such a fantastic community.

I ran to ensure Mukilteo remains a safe, and vibrant place to live, work, and raise our families, and I pledge to lead with integrity, transparency, and an eagerness to listen. I am committed to collaborative leadership, working alongside my fellow council members, city staff, and most importantly, you – the residents of Mukilteo to find practical solutions that protect the character of our neighborhoods, and reflects our values and long-term vision.

Thank you again for your faith in me. I am eager to get to work.

🔔[ELECTION ALERT] MUKILTEO COUNCILWOMAN DONNA VAGO ENDORSES JAMES STERBA

📫ENDORSEMENT FOR JAMES STERBA – A COMMONSENSE CANDIDATE FOR MUKILTEO CITY COUNCIL

Mukilteo needs City Council members who bring practical, common-sense solutions to the table — and that’s exactly what James Sterba offers. With decades of real-world leadership experience, James is no stranger to making tough decisions, managing large teams, and ensuring both operational and fiscal accountability.

Though new to politics, James is far from inexperienced. With a career spanning 36 years at The Boeing Company — including 27 years in management and senior leadership —He has the experience to navigate the city's challenges, with a solid understanding of budgeting, contracts, and project management.
What sets James apart is his focus on solutions, not politics. He’s not interested in playing games — he’s here to serve, and he genuinely wants to use his experience to make Mukilteo stronger and more resilient.

His priorities reflect what residents care about most: public safety, responsible budgeting, preserving our quality of life, and standing against overdevelopment. He strongly supports our first responders and understands that smart investments in infrastructure, schools, and economic development are key to a thriving community.

With rising staff costs and the upcoming changes to EMS funding in 2026, Mukilteo has an opportunity to refocus its budget. James Sterba is committed to responsible financial planning, careful spending, and finding practical, balanced solutions that support long-term financial stability for the city.

James isn’t just offering ideas — he brings real-world experience, built on leadership, integrity, and a clear commitment to our community.

Mukilteo deserves thoughtful leadership. Elect James Sterba to City Council."
