This week, our School Resource Officers attended the Tennessee School Resource Officers Association Annual Training Convention in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

More than 800 School Resource Officers from across the state gathered to participate in a week of specialized training focused on school safety, student engagement, crisis response, threat assessment, and updates to Tennessee laws affecting schools and law enforcement.

Our SROs spent the week learning from experienced instructors and industry professionals to ensure they remain equipped with the latest knowledge, skills, and resources to help keep our students, faculty, and schools safe.

We are proud of the dedication our School Resource Officers continue to show through ongoing training and professional development. Their commitment to serving and protecting the students and staff of Johnson County is evident each and every day.

Today, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office was honored to receive a visit from a representative of Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger’s office, who presented Sheriff Clifton Worley Jr. with a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition in acknowledgment of his outstanding dedication to public safety.

This recognition was presented as part of National Police Week, and was awarded to sheriffs across the State of Tennessee in appreciation of their service and commitment to the communities they serve.

Sheriff Worley is grateful for this recognition and extends his appreciation to the men and women of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office whose hard work, professionalism, and dedication make such achievements possible.

We thank Congresswoman Harshbarger’s office for recognizing the efforts of law enforcement officers throughout Tennessee and for their continued support of public safety.

Additional registered s*x offenders residing in Johnson County have been identified who report through the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) instead of the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.

We will be including these offenders in our continued awareness posts so residents have access to complete and accurate information concerning offenders living within our county.

Over this past week, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office has shared information regarding the registered s*x offenders currently residing within Johnson County. Our goal has been to help keep our community informed and aware, especially as children and families spend more time outdoors during the summer months.

At this time, all registered offenders residing in Johnson County are currently compliant with registration requirements and restrictions as mandated by Tennessee law. These offenders are monitored according to state guidelines, and any violations or non-compliance issues are investigated accordingly.

We encourage all residents to remain vigilant, stay informed, and continue practicing safety awareness within their neighborhoods and communities.
