I was honored today to attend the ceremonial signing of two important pieces of veterans legislation by Governor Patrick Morrisey at the Wheeling Waterfront.
The bills signed today strengthen protections for Purple Heart recipients by providing enforcement authority for designated Purple Heart parking spaces and extend vehicle registration fee waivers to surviving Gold Star parents. These measures recognize the sacrifices made not only by our veterans, but also by the families who have borne the burden of military service and loss.
In the photo are myself, Chris Figaretti of Newbridge Church, Governor Patrick Morrisey, and Bishop Dr. D. W. Cummings, Pastor of Bethlehem Apostolic Temple in Wheeling and Shiloh Apostolic Faith Assembly in Weirton.
I was also pleased to hear remarks from Senator Laura Wakim Chapman and had the opportunity to visit with Delegate Chuck Sheedy and Republican nominee for State Senate District 2, Toby Heaney.
One of the most important responsibilities of a County Commissioner is building relationships and maintaining open lines of communication with leaders at every level of government. Throughout this campaign, I have worked to establish and strengthen relationships with elected officials, community leaders, and decision-makers across West Virginia. These connections will help Marshall County have a stronger voice and better access to the people who can assist us in addressing local needs, pursuing opportunities, and solving problems.
If elected County Commissioner, I will continue working collaboratively with state and local leaders to ensure Marshall County is represented, heard, and positioned for success.
Congratulations to Governor Morrisey, our legislators, veterans, and Gold Star families on this meaningful step toward honoring those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom.
🇺🇸 Because supporting our veterans and their families should never be a partisan issue—it is a duty we all share.
Additional photos from today’s event will be posted in the comments. 🇺🇸
