TEACHING & LEARNING
Big news for Moses Lake students and schools!

Three of our schools have been recognized by the Washington School Recognition Program for the 2024-25 school year—an honor earned by only about 16% of schools statewide.

These awards, announced by the The Washington State Board of Education, recognize that our schools have demonstrated exceptional progress in key areas of student success.

Here’s what that means:

Midway Elementary School - Closing Gaps for students learning English

Sage Point Elementary School - Growth for students learning English

Vanguard Academy - Growth for students in one or more racial or ethnic groups

These recognitions reflect real progress—students growing, gaps closing, and opportunities expanding.

And soon, each school will receive a state recognition banner to display—something students and staff can see every day as a reminder of what they’ve accomplished.

Proud of our students. Grateful for our educators. Focused on what’s next.

Mr. Snider-As a "No Excuses University School" Mr. Snider's PE class has adopted the Air Force Academy as their college. Their core values are:
Integrity First: The foundation of trust.
Service Before Self: Putting the mission and country above oneself.
Excellence in All We Do: Committing to high standards in all pursuits.
He embodies all of those values.
Mr. Snider serves as a great role model and coach not only at our school, but in our community. Not only does he give our kids his best everyday, afterschool and on weekends he gives his best to our MLHS baseball players as a coach.
Thank you Mr. Snider for blessing our school and community with your gifts and always leading by example. Encouraging us and motivating us to always do our best. We appreciate you! 💪❤️🎉

These amazing kiddos earned "Pizza with the Principal"! 🎉 These students and many others had 100% attendance for the month of March. All 100% attendance achievers earned certificates and a chance to be drawn. I was blessed to eat lunch today with these 15 amazing students whose names were picked from their K-5 grade bands. Lot's of laughs, stories, and fun!

Hand delivered by our incredible PTO President Edher Garcia!

Thank you to our amazing PTO and "Communities in Schools" for making today possible! You absolutely enrich our school and make it a great place to be! 🙏❤️🎉

Happy Fight Song Friday!!! A few years back Midway applied and became accredited as a "No Excuses University" school. We are part of a network of schools across the nation, that says and believes no matter where you come from, you can accomplish your goals and dreams after high school for college, tech school, and military! NO EXCUSES! We start young, bringing college traditions, knowledge, culture, and belonging to our elementary school.

Again, Happy Fight Song Friday! Let's keep building and achieving dreams together! ❤️🎉
