🔥 City of Morton Fire Department will begin our annual hydrant maintenance on Monday, July 7, 2025. 🔥

Firefighters will flush and test hydrants between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. This program will last around 7 days.

💦 Your water may appear discolored as we flush the hydrants in your neighborhood. Running cold water for several minutes before use should eliminate any discolorations. This is a necessity to make sure our water system is up to the task, if the need were to arise. 💦

If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at (601) 732-6252!!

Unity is strength!

What you can't see from this image are the rapid decisions being made moments before and the actions taken to save the life of total strangers.

Scott County S.O., your quick work made a difference.

With teamwork and collaboration great things are achieved.

I love our little town and am honored to work beside you.

Joel Davidson,
City of Morton Fire Chief

🔥❄️ Stay Informed, Stay Safe! ❄️🔥

As winter weather approaches, we want to keep our community prepared and safe. The NWS of Jackson is currently showing a significant threat of low temperatures and an elevated threat for snow, sleet, and ice. This can lead to hazardous driving conditions and damage to water pipes. Also remember the safety of animals that may usually be kept outdoors.

Your safety is our top priority. Please be sure to stay connected through our page and the US National Weather Service Jackson Mississippi.
