Reminder!

There is a student council meeting on Friday, November 17th during high school WIN- 11:11-11:51.

I know there are several events happening on Friday. Please try your best to be here! Keep track of your hours and remember that you need 10 hours PER SEMESTER for a total of 20 hours during this school year.

If anyone wants to volunteer for Friday’s football game concession stand, I’m sure Coach B would appreciate it! 🏈

THIS WEEK- make sure you order your BOO GRAMS at lunch to treat your friends, teachers, and BOO! Boo grams will be delivered on Halloween!

HALLOWEEN DRESS OUT DAY- 💲2️⃣ wear Halloween colors and jeans on Tuesday, October 31st.

District VII Student Council Convention

Our leaders are PUMPED! We participated in district convention where we became “tacky tourists” and learned all about leadership opportunities going on in and around our district.

🧦 Together, district VII student council clubs donated 400 pairs of socks to local shelters and people in need.

During the keynote speaker presentation, our leaders wrote down everything that holds them back from being their best selves, ripped it all up and put the pieces together to form words that describe what kind of leaders they WANT to be. It takes a whole community of people to form a leader. ✨

Our leaders are STRONG, GREAT, SELFLESS, LOVING, and KIND.

AHS Student Council sponsored the 2nd Annual REALITY CHECK.

Students are assigned a salary and get the opportunity to budget and pay for monthly expenses based on their income. Many students were shocked at how expensive some things are, especially child care!

We are so thankful to all of the community volunteers who helped us today. Special shout out to Cottonport Bank who supplied the transaction registers and brought some door prizes for our students!

Student council’s spring service trip was a success! We packaged 2,130 lbs of onions and 11,100 lbs of pantry items at the Cenla Food Bank. 💪🏼

Student Council is sponsoring an OUT OF UNIFORM day tomorrow, March 16! Celebrate St. Patrick's Day by wearing green shirts and jeans for $2!

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! 2023 Reality Check is scheduled for Wednesday, May 17!

Last year we hosted the very first ever “Reality Check” where students were assigned a salary and visited different table booths to pay for their monthly expenses.

We are looking for community volunteers to run our table booths. Volunteers need to be willing to answer student questions about budgeting and what buyers should consider before purchasing.
