MARES: Magnificent, Alive, Rare, and Exceptional Souls

Our next MARES gathering is October 2 from 3:30–5:00 PM at Willow Equine.

MARES is a monthly group created exclusively for female Veterans. It’s an opportunity to connect with other women Veterans who understand the shared experiences, challenges, and struggles that come with military service.

Each 90-minute gathering incorporates healing with horses and nature in a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment.

There is no cost to attend. Donations are always appreciated.

Mooresville's 9/11 Ceremony Video: Twenty-five years later, Mooresville gathered to remember.
The ceremony included prayer, music, tributes to those lost and an unforgettable message from Bob Hogan, who survived September 11 from the 81st floor of One World Trade Center.

We honor the lives lost, the heroes who stepped forward, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the military members and families who have continued to serve and sacrifice.

At Willow Equine & Soul to Sole Connection, we believe healing, connection, courage, and compassion matter — today and every day.

He carried the weight of places he never talks about.
Memories tucked beneath his heart like letters never sent.

Then came a horse.

No questions.
No judgment.
No need to explain.

Just warm breath,
soft eyes,
and four steady feet
standing quietly beside him.

The horse didn’t ask him to be strong.
It simply stood there
until he remembered
he could breathe.

The veteran carried the horse’s lead,
but somehow,
the horse was carrying him.

Because sometimes healing
doesn’t come in words.
Sometimes it has a heartbeat,
a gentle nudge,
and a pair of eyes
that seem to say,

“I see you.
You’re safe here.
You don’t have to carry it alone.”
