Heads up, Moorestown! We all can do our part to keep Strawbridge Lake beautiful!

The Strawbridge Lake Beautification Committee is asking everyone to please be aware of the dangers of discarding fishing line and other refuse at Strawbridge Lake. Recently, resident James Reilley pulled a massive amount of fishing line from an area near the Kings Highway bridge (pictured). It is disturbing because two Blue Herons frequently fish at this location and are at risk of becoming entangled and suffer injury -- or even die. Hooks and other fishing tackle also pose a threat to our wildlife at the lake. Many come to the lake to enjoy recreational fishing, and everyone must do their part in preserving wildlife and nature at the Lake. Please remember to properly dispose of fishing line and tackle as well as refuse and trash in general while visiting the lake. Moorestown Township declared 2022 as “The Year of the Environment” – let’s all do our part not only this year, but for all years to come so that everyone can enjoy the beauty and nature of Strawbridge Lake today and for future generations! For information and details about recycling and proper disposal of fishing line, please visit: https://www.savecoastalwildlife.org/managing-fishing-line-waste.

Looks like a significant snow storm will hit Moorestown this weekend. It’s a good time to review the township’s snow policy on road prep and clean up.

Precipitation anticipation. This weekend's forecast calls for snow. Here's how we determine how to act when the forecast calls for flurries.

Big news, Moorestown!

We know you’ve all been waiting, so here is the huge announcement about Strawbridge Lake…Moorestown Township has approved a permanent floating dock! Say goodbye to the days of precariously launching kayaks, paddle boards and small water craft from the banks of the lake– there will now be a large “L-shaped” permanent floating dock to be installed near the parking lot closest to Kings Highway on Haines Drive! The new dock will extend 20 feet out into the water and is manufactured by EZ Docks. Plans are also underway to install two additional smaller versions of this dock by Church Street (Upper Basin) and at the middle of the lake. The township will be clearing a path down to the lake prior to installation, which should begin soon. Funds raised from The Moorestown Paddleboard & Kayak Race are being used to pay for this wonderful addition to Strawbridge Lake, and the Strawbridge Lake Beautification Committee is very thankful for all of the community support which made our annual event such a success-- enabling us to fund the first dock at Strawbridge Lake!
