What a wonderful time we had at the City of Moody Summer Kickoff! A huge thank you to our Civic Center staff, Library team, and Police Department for all their hard work in making this event such a success.
We would also like to extend a special thank you to The Gathering Place Church for providing delicious hot dogs and chips for everyone to enjoy, Ashville Inflatables for the slide and bounce house, and our favorite Frios Gourmet Pops for helping make the day even sweeter.
Most importantly, thank you to all of our citizens who came out to celebrate with us. We hope everyone was as excited as we were to kick off summer and officially open the splash pad for another season of fun. Here’s to a great summer in Moody! ☀️💦🏖️

A big thank you to my friend Austin Phillips for hosting this month’s Mayor’s Breakfast. As many state leaders mentioned this morning, we are blessed to live in a very unique county where leaders consistently come together for the common good of our communities. That kind of unity is rare and something we should never take for granted.
It was also great hearing from who I believe will be our next Attorney General, Katherine Robertson, as well as my good friend Katrina Hennings, who is continuing her campaign to serve on our County Commission.

I am definitely going to miss my right hand but Tonight we had the honor of celebrating the retirement of the one and only Mrs. Melissa. If you ever wanted to see the true definition of a public servant, she is it. Over the years, she has helped organize and support countless community events ,far too many to even begin to name.
From my time as a young councilman to now serving as mayor, Melissa has always been someone I could count on for guidance, help, and encouragement. Her heart for this community and the people in it has made a lasting impact that will not soon be forgotten.
Melissa, your dedication and service have been such a blessing to so many, and your presence will be incredibly hard to replace. We are beyond thankful for everything you have done for this community.
We wish you and Robert nothing but happiness, relaxation, and many blessings in this next chapter of retirement. You have certainly earned it.

Great group of hard workers. Almost finished with the new expansion which has been much needed. Thank you for all your hard work.

Infrastructure isn't pretty, but it's absolutely necessary for any city to function properly.

The Governmental Utility Services Corporation (GUSC) was formed in 2007 by the City of Moody as an independent authority with one job — manage the city's sewer system and make sure it never becomes your problem. Nineteen years later, they're still doing exactly that, quietly maintaining the infrastructure that makes everything else in this city possible.

You can't build neighborhoods, attract businesses, or grow a city on a foundation that doesn't work. GUSC is a big part of why Moody's foundation does.

Happy Wastewater Professionals Appreciation Day to the men and women of GUSC!
