I am incredibly grateful for everyone who supported me, encouraged me, volunteered, shared a kind word, or simply believed in this journey. None of this would have been possible without you.

I look forward to this next chapter and the opportunity to serve our community. Thank you for placing your trust in me.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all of your support. I am honored, humbled, and ready to get to work.

With the election coming up on Tuesday June 2nd, I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for the support, encouragement, and kind words throughout this journey.

I started this campaign back in November, and along the way I have had the privilege of meeting so many great people from across this county. From the very beginning, my goal was to be approachable and transparent. To knock on as many doors as I could, have real conversations, and hold meet and greets where we could share a meal together in communities throughout the county.

No matter the outcome, I am incredibly proud of how far we have come. I am proud to live in this great county. I’m thankful for the relationships and support that have come from this experience.

From my family to yours, thank you all for your support. It truly means more than words can express.

Today my family takes a pause to reflect on Memorial Day. A day to remember the brave men and women who gave everything for this country and the freedoms we enjoy every day.

These heroes lived out the meaning of sacrifice. As John 15:13 says, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

We will never truly be able to repay the debt we owe to those who chose service over self, courage over comfort, and sacrifice over safety. Their legacy lives on in every freedom we experience and every flag that flies proudly today.

Today, we honor them. We remember them. And we thank the families who continue to carry their memory forward.

Never forgotten.

I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who came out and supported us today. The encouragement, conversations, and support truly mean a lot to me and my family.

Seeing so many people take the time out of their day to stop by, visit, and share their thoughts reminds me why I decided to run in the first place. McCook County is full of great people who care deeply about our community and its future.

I’m incredibly grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you for your continued support, prayers, and belief in this campaign.

Good afternoon,

I just wanted to drop a quick reminder. This coming Saturday, May 23rd starting around 10am I will be at the Salem Park. We will be grilling brats and hot dogs. We will also have Cold Stone Ice cream.

I don’t want to make this a political event but more of a community get together. I know that it is Memorial Day weekend and people will have plans. If you are around please stop by and grab some food and an ice cream. We will have a couple bounce houses set up as well so bring the family.

I wanted to send a thank you to Jerry’s Bakery in Salem for making the buns.

My family and I will also be attending the season opener for the South Dakota Mud Racers in Mitchell on Sunday the 24th to cheer on the local racers.

Stay safe during today’s weather. If you need anything please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Transparency has been one of the core principles of my campaign from the very beginning. That is why I am sharing the statements from Deputy Simmermon and Deputy Mayou. I believe the public deserves to hear these perspectives before casting their vote on June 2nd.

I share this not only as a candidate for Sheriff, but also as a citizen of this county who, like every resident, depends on effective and reliable law enforcement to protect our families and communities.

Over the course of this campaign, several current deputies have expressed serious concerns about the future direction of the department under certain leadership scenarios. Some have indicated they would choose not to remain with the agency if those changes occur. I believe those concerns should not be dismissed, because they directly impact the stability and effectiveness of our Sheriff’s Office.

This is not about attacking opponents or running a negative campaign. It is about recognizing the very real challenges that come with losing experienced deputies all at once. For a department staffed for 10 deputies and a Sheriff, the loss of 6 or more members would place significant strain on operations, increase response times, and affect the level of service our communities deserve. Recruiting and training replacements also requires substantial time and resources.

Leadership matters. Stability matters. Experience matters. Most importantly, supporting and retaining the dedicated men and women who serve and protect this county matters.

As Sheriff, my focus will always be on building a professional, stable, and respected department that serves both its employees and the public with integrity.

Change and an outside perspective are important because they bring fresh ideas, new energy, and different experiences to a department. It allows us to build on what works while also improving areas that may need change. Growth happens when leaders are willing to adapt, listen, and look toward the future instead of becoming comfortable with “the way things have always been done.”

I have a tremendous amount of respect for Sheriff Norris and everything he has accomplished throughout his career. His years of service and dedication to the community deserve recognition and appreciation. My goal is not to take away from those accomplishments, but to continue building on the strong foundation that has already been established while bringing a fresh perspective and new ideas for the future.

Communities change, challenges change, and law enforcement continues to change. Leadership must be willing to change with it. An outside perspective can bring renewed energy, accountability, and a focus on the future while still honoring the people and traditions that came before.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the incredible moms, grandmas, and mother figures out there today. Your love, sacrifice, and strength do not go unnoticed.

I’ve been fortunate to have not just one strong mother figure in my life, but two. My mom taught me the value of hard work, honesty, and treating people with respect no matter who they are. She is always there to support me, guide me, and push me to be better.

My stepmom also played a major role in shaping the person I am today. She brought encouragement, patience, and kindness into my life and has always treated me like her own. The support and lessons I’ve received from both of them have helped shape how I lead, how I serve others, and how I raise my own family.

I’m also incredibly thankful for my wife and the amazing mother she is to our family. The love, patience, and dedication she shows every day never goes unnoticed. Watching her care for and support our family is one of the greatest blessings in my life, and I couldn’t ask for a better partner by my side.

The lessons and support I’ve received from these strong women have helped shape the man I am today.

Happy Mother’s Day to my mom, my stepmom, my wife, and all of the amazing mothers in our community.
