The September lineup is here!🍂

💫Our Adult Responsibility Project offers free virtual trainings covering topics that help us better understand, support, and protect young people- ✨because we all play a part in creating safe, healthy communities for children and youth.✨

You don’t have to be a parent to make a difference… Whether you’re a teacher, coach, caregiver, neighbor, mentor, community member, or simply someone who cares about the well-being of young people, there’s a role for all of us.🌟

đź””Back-to-school reminderđź””

“How was school?” might not be the question that gets kids talking…

Try something more specific:
💬 “Who did you have fun with today?”
💬 “Was there anything that made you feel uncomfortable?”
💬 “Who could you go to if you needed help at school?”
💬 “What’s one thing you wish I knew about your day?”

Small, everyday conversations help kids know that they can come to the adults in their lives. Not just about the good stuff, but the confusing and hard stuff, toođź’›

As kids head back to the classroom, let’s make sure families, caregivers, educators, and communities have the tools and support they need to help children feel safe 🫂…

📚🎒 It’s officially back to school- and back to making a difference!💜

The first day of school always feels BIG: New backpacks, new classrooms, new routines, and a whole lot of excitement…

As Vermont kids head back to school, we want to make sure families have the support and resources they need to start the year off strong. Your support helps us continue creating safer, healthier environments where children can grow, learn, and thriveđź’›

🎒 Back-to-school is NEXT week! Here are a few simple ways to help kids feel safe, supported, and ready for the year ahead:

💛 Talk about feelings, not just schedules. Ask what they’re excited about, nervous about, or wondering about… 💭

👂 Make space for the little things. A “bad day” might be about something that seems small to an adult but feels huge to a child.

🗣️ Remind them they can always tell a trusted adult! And if the first adult doesn’t listen, keep telling until someone does.

🤝 Build their circle. Help your child identify 2–3 adults they feel comfortable going to at school or in the community.

📱 Talk about online safety, too. As kids reconnect with classmates and spend more time online, check in about group chats, social media, privacy, and what to do if something makes them uncomfortable.

🌱 And remember: *connection is protective* Kids don’t need perfect parents, perfect teachers, or perfect days. They need caring adults who listen, notice, and show up.

Here’s to a school year where every child feels safe, supported, and seen💛

We’re THRILLED to be teaming up with CreemeePassport - and they’re helping us double our impact too!

🍦 IT’S NATIONAL CREEMEE DAY! 🍦

August 19 is the day Vermont celebrates one of its most beloved summer traditions… the creemee! 🍦💚

And this week, we’re making that tradition even sweeter: Our campaign runs August 17–23, bringing together creemee stands, local businesses, and communities to turn a favorite summer treat into support for children and families.

A portion of sales from participating businesses benefits Prevent Child Abuse Vermont and our work to strengthen families, support caregivers, and help create safe, healthy childhoods where Vermont kids can thrive.

A HUGE thank you to our incredible 2026 Creemees 4 a Cause partners: Cold Hollow Cider Mill Mr. Creemee Joe’s Snack Bar Evan Michaud Woodstock Scoops Cajun's Snack Bar Dairy Creme Canteen Creemee Company Vermont Cookie Love Falls General Store

🎒Back to school season is about more than school supplies…

Right now, families across Vermont are getting ready for a new school year- new sneakers, fresh notebooks, sharpened pencils, and backpacks packed for the first day.
But there’s one thing every child needs that you can’t buy at a store: A feeling of safety💙

As children head back to the classroom, we’re kicking off our Back-to-School Campaign with a reminder that creating safe, healthy, and happy childhoods takes all of us:
Parents. Caregivers. Teachers. Coaches. Neighbors. Community members.

Your supports us provide the training, resources, and support that give the adults in children’s lives the tools they need to help kids feel safe, supported, valued, and protected.
Because every child deserves more than a backpack full of supplies. They deserve a community committed to their safety.
