The Clerk & Treasurers Offices will be closed on Wednesday September 9th and Thursday September 10th for our annual training.

All other departments are open as usual.

We will resume regular office hours on Friday.

Junction Road will be closed between Bartlett Rd and Ember Ln beginning on Monday September 14th for culvert replacement. The work is expected to take up to 2 weeks. Please seek alternate routes.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS: TOWN OF BERLIN Municipal Staffing & Compensation Study

The Town of Berlin, VT is accepting proposals from qualified consultants to perform a comprehensive Staffing and Compensation Study. The project includes wage/benefit analysis and 5-year/10-year staffing level projections for all town departments, including the transition to a municipal fire department.

• RFP Release Date: August 27, 2026
• Proposal Deadline: Thursday September 17, at 4:00 P.M.
• Project Budget: Up to $20,000

The Town of Berlin is holding a public hearing at the Berlin Town Office on September 28, 2026, beginning at 6p.m, to discuss the following proposed Town Charter and Administrative Code Changes:

Article 1: Town Charter Change from Town Administrator to Town Manager
Shall the Berlin Town Charter be hereby amended as follows:
§ 44 Appointed Officers
Section (b) Removal of items (1) “Town Administrator” and (2) “Assistant Town Administrator”
Section (b) Addition of items (1) “Town Manager” and (2) “Assistant Town Manager”


Article 2: Administrative Code Change from Town Administrator to Town Manager
On page 2 Section 3:
Remove Administrator after Town and replace it with Manager.
Add first bullet item to read:
To assume all duties as detailed in VT State Statute Title 24 Chapter 37.
