Monticello Veterans Honor Guard It numbers 40 members.

The Monticello Veterans Honor Guard is made up of veterans and sons or daughters of veterans from the three military service organizations in Monticello: American Legion Post, Amvets, and VFW.

The Honor Guard will pay tribute to William "Bill" Garringer of Lafayette on Saturday at Hughes Cemetery. His visitation is from 1-3 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home in Monticello. A service will be held for him at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Honor Guard will pay tribute to veterans on Monday, Memorial Day. They will be at AMVETS at 11 a.m. and the White County Courthouse at 1 p.m.
