The City Council continues to falsify information in an effort to mislead the public. Congratulations to all those who chose to vote the incumbents back into office!

On Thursday, December 19, 2024, the State Auditor’s Office released Report 2024-801, noting that Montebello has a high-risk designation.

The City respectfully disagrees with this decision. Montebello has fully or partially resolved all seven high-risk areas - a testament to the City’s commitment to improving operations, internal controls, and achieving financial stability.

Highlights include:
✅ General Fund reserves are at their highest level in over a decade ($28.5M).
✅ Over $37 million was generated through Measure H to strengthen the City’s finances.
✅ Strategic investments in infrastructure, public safety, and economic growth.

The City remains dedicated to transparency, accountability, and building a sustainable, thriving future for our community.

This Thanksgiving, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported my campaign and stood behind me. The enthusiasm out in the streets was truly electric, and it reminded me how much I love this city and everyone in it.

My goal has always been to do good for Montebello, and I remain committed to working in any capacity to ensure our city and its neighbors continue to thrive. Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with love and gratitude.

Is that why the City Council, with the new City Manager, gave incoming Mayor Scarlett Peralta an unprecedented $13K swearing-in party with our taxpayer's budget at Quiet Cannon? And what's up with the free ice cream and burgers for "District 2" residents with the Mayor at Quiet Cannon? Is that considered outreach? I hear our Chief of the Montebello Police Department is now on leave and has filed a tort against the city. Of course, the city is trying to keep it quiet until the Elections are over. Could someone please confirm this information for me? How many city executive employees are there, nine in two years? I will share as soon as I can confirm.

When your campaign has no actual accomplishments, you have to lie to constituents and say, “I’m going to do something for you during my next term!” Scarlet needs to tell the truth. I led the "Paving the Way" street repaving project, which she voted to shut down the “Streets Committee” I formed in 2013.

Although the city completed Phase I, Phase II was not completed for purely political reasons because it was my program to use specific funding dedicated to street repaving. Not a single additional street has been paved since Phase I was completed. The people of Montebello deserve better leadership!

This deal, orchestrated by ex-Councilwoman Cristina Cortez and friends, benefits Brad Perrin at taxpayers’ expense. Over the last few months, they’ve distracted residents with free ice cream and burgers, but are they trying to buy your support while they profit? It’s time for real leadership that puts Montebello residents first.

Over the past few weeks, false accusations have been spread about me by outside interests trying to confuse voters. Let’s focus on the real issue—my opponent, Scarlet Peralta, is backed by former councilwoman Christina Cortez, whose husband pleaded guilty to selling drugs by a middle school, which raises serious concerns about their integrity. Montebello deserves honest leadership, not candidates influenced by those tied to illegal activity. I’m running to restore stability and bring real accountability back to City Hall. Let’s take our city in the right direction.

The corruption allegations against me are lies with no evidence from outside interests who want to keep their pay-to-play relationship with the current Council majority. They know I stand for integrity and will not bend to their influence. As a 2012 graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy and long-time LA County Sheriff’s Youth Foundation board member, I have always put Montebello first. I’m running for City Council to restore ethics and accountability at City Hall and to do what’s right for our residents by bringing back a stable and professional city administration. Our residents deserve a government that is focused on serving them, not embroiled in legal battles and controversies. It’s time for real change and leadership that prioritizes transparency, accountability, and the well-being of our community. Outside special interests are spreading lies about me, but ongoing employee lawsuits are showing the truth about Mayor Peralta.
