05/28/2025

At approximately 4:25 p.m. on May 26, 2025, fire crews responded to a reported structure fire near the corner of Central Ave. and Palo Verde St. in Montclair. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a building under construction at 9645 Central Ave. that was fully involved in flames. Due to the volume of fire, additional units were immediately requested. Fire resources from the Los Angeles County Fire Department, San Bernardino County Fire Department, and Rancho Cucamonga Fire District assisted on scene. Fire crews applied large volumes of water to bring the fire under control and successfully contained the blaze to the structure of origin, preventing further spread. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

🔥🚨 It’s Fire Prevention Week! This year’s theme is "Smoke Alarms: Make Them Work for You." 🏠❤️ Here are some essential tips to keep your home safe:

Test Your Alarms: Press the test button monthly to ensure they’re working.
Change the Batteries: Replace batteries at least once a year, or consider models with a 10-year battery.
Replace Old Alarms: If your smoke alarm is over 10 years old, it’s time for a replacement!
Proper Placement: Install smoke alarms on every level of your home, inside bedrooms, and outside sleeping areas.
Create a Family Escape Plan: Ensure everyone knows what to do when the alarm sounds.
Let’s prioritize safety and make sure our smoke alarms are ready to protect us! 🔥✨

On Tuesday 09/10/24 at 05:00am Montclair Fire Department sent out OES 331 as part of Task Force 4611 to the Airport Fire in Orange and Riverside Counties. Our crews are working diligently to protect life and property to those affected.

Commercial Structure Fire 8/7/24

At approximately 1930 hours ME 152 was dispatched to a reported commercial water flow alarm at 10660 Silicon Ave. in the city of Montclair. ME 152 arrived on scene and reported the fire sprinkler system was activated and smoke showing from a single-story commercial building. ME 152 upgraded the assignment to a first alarm commercial response. Assistance was provided from AMR ambulance, Chino Valley, fire district, Ontario, fire department, and LA County fire. Crews made an aggressive attack on the fire achieving knockdown within minutes. Fire was confined to the room of origin with no other fire damage reported. No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported. Local utility companies were dispatched to the scene to ensure the building was deemed safe. Cause is under investigation.

Fireworks are illegal in Montclair. The City enforces a Zero Tolerance Fireworks Program (ORD 05-865); violators may be issued a fine of up to $1,000.

To report a firework-related incident in your neighborhood, please contact the Montclair Police Department at (909) 621-4771.
