If you received a note on your door about needing to change out your water meter to the new AMI meter Please get in touch with us at City Hall so we can arrange a time for you to allow our guys to switch them out. We are down to a few handfuls and really want to complete this task! Thank you!

Hey Kiddos!!!! Jingle & Jangle hid 1000 Candy Canes in North, South, & St. Jude's Parks! BUT, there is one small problem - they lost their hats while they were playing on the playgrounds! If you find them, please turn them into Santa Claus! Santa Claus will be here in Monroe City TODAY from 2-5 PM at his house!

Merry Christmas, Monroe City! Thank you to all who came to the council meeting tonight and showed interest in getting MC back on track. I appreciate everyone's support. I have a few updates to share with you:
Monroe City License Office will be closed tomorrow - Friday, December 22nd. They will also be closed due to the holidays, on December 25th & December 26th, and January 1st as well as January 15th.
Business Licenses are due by December 31st.
LAST DAY TO FILE FOR AN OPEN SEAT IS DECEMBER 26TH!
City Hall is closed that day BUT you can call Tamitha and she will get you signed up. Please make every effort to take care of this beforehand.
Utility Bills are due December 27th.

NOTICE: The elves are worried that the rain predicted for Saturday could make the Candy Canes very soggy! They are going to move the date to next Saturday morning, December 23rd! No set time or age limit! North Park, South Park, and St. Jude's Park will be the spots to hunt Candy Canes! Find the most and win a prize! I will put a new post on Facebook Saturday evening for everyone to respond to as to how many they found! Merry Christmas!!!

I know some of you haven't received your utility bill yet - I haven't either. They were mailed out last Wednesday from our MC Post Office. Here is the deal - our post office will no longer sort them for us. They were sent to St. Louis to be sorted and mailed out to you. Unfortunately, the city had no control over this decision. The delinquent bills we are really focused on right now are those that are 90 days and more past due. Of course we encourage everyone to pay on time because it is so hard to get caught back up. You can call or stop by and the ladies will be more than happy to print you a statement, or wait a bit because I am sure they will be arriving anytime now!

MC RESIDENTS - As your Mayor, I emplore you....Please come in and let's work together to get your utilities paid up. The city buys these resources so they are not free by no means. If you do not pay for your usage, how are we to pay our bill? Let's work together and get this taken care of. I do not want to shut people's utilities off - it will absolutely ruin my holidays as well as yours. Come in City Hall- we have some Wonderful ladies up there who can explain your bill and help you come to a resolution. Merry Christmas!
