Want to know how important reading is? Nurses in the NICU at many hospitals read to the infants while they are still developing and growing at the hospital. Science has proven that reading mentally stimulates their brain activity. They even get their own reading log!

It's almost that time! The start of school is just around the corner. I am looking forward to seeing everyone soon. Computer chrome book check-out is August 14th in the library so I will see students for the first time then. Enjoy the last of summer!

Two trip posts in one day. I was too tired last night, and my phone died at the theater anyway. Today, was our last day together. It's been amazing! Have I mentioned that I love my job? Have I mentioned that in another life I'm going to be a tour guide? 😍

1. Subway to breakfast
2. Trinity Church (Alexander Hamilton)
3. Financial District: Wall Street, Federal Hall, Raging Bull Statue, Fierce Girl Statue, Bowling Park
4. Survivor Tree
5.9/11 Memorial and Museum
6. Subway to Staten Island
7. Ferry to Statue of Liberty/Pedestal tour
8. NPS Statue Musuem
9. Get stuck with Avarie in LaGuardia security. Get called mom by TSA. Stand in line 30 minutes waiting for her carry-on to be checked because a woman in front of us has 3 bags filled with baby formula only for her bag to be given directly to us without even being checked. Finally lunch at 3pm.

DAY Four

1. Arlington National Cemetery: Supreme Court Hill, Eternal Flame/Kennedy Family Plot, Changing of the Guards
2. Charter to NYC
3. Supper at Margaritaville in Times Square
4. Times Square
5. Broadway
6. Wicked at the Gershwin Theater

**These girls stuck to me like glue when we hit NYC. They were initiated quickly into what life is like on Times Square last night. On our way to see Wicked, we ran into a Palestinian Protest. We locked backpacks, ducked heads, and shoved all the way through it. They asked no questions and did exactly as I asked them to, and we made it with no issues. They were shaky but smiling at the end. I was glad to sit down for a while. 🤣❤️

**I wore these girls out today! We've walked nearly 15,000 steps since breakfast, but it's been a memorable day. They are ready for a bath and bed!
(And by now, they know when I pull my phone out, it's time for a selfie!)

**Y'all, in true Lobo style, these two girls have blown my mind in just 2 days. They have asked questions, answered questions, read signs and pamphlets, and absorbed everything they see. We may be tiny in number, but we are absolutely Mighty Monahans!💚💚🐾🐾🐾
