Tour Chicagoland’s Last remaining 100% volunteer fire station. This is a fire house tour you won’t want to miss.
Enter: Garden Homes Fire Protection District. Home of the Penguins. The Igloo of 22.

These firefighters are about as real as it gets. Tour their space, check out their rigs, listen to their stories and see how they’ve transformed a basic cinderblock station into one of the hardest working stations in the area. Many fire chiefs from the local area can call Garden Homes their start, and if you watch this feature, you’ll see why.
