Show day at the County Fair is your project’s “moment of truth.” What you have learned, how you have managed your animal and how well you control your animal are all tested. A good showman will always make his or her animal look the best it can!

Hi All! 🍀
We know preparing for showmanship questions can be intimidating. Especially if it is your 1st time showing.
Being comfortable handling and talking about your animal is key!
A judge can ask a variety of questions in the show ring.
To prepare for the judging process it is best to learn all you can about your animal. Think of this as a great way to SHOW off that animal you are so proud of.

Showmanship is so important!

It all starts with, care, kindness and knowledge, and your animals will shine!

Practice talking to others (friends & family members) about your animals, what you know about their breed type, how you care for them, and it will make the Showmanship Interview Judging a breeze!

This year all of our 4-H'ers will be entered in Showmanship for their Animals at the Renville County Fair.

It is important for Youth Beef Cattle Shows to incorporate Beef Cattle Showmanship as part of beef cattle exhibitions.

Winning showmanship has become an accolade that many seek to achieve. Doing so takes practice, patience, and a willingness to be coached.

Make sure you are learning and have the knowledge on your special animal!

The Renville County 4-H Horse Show is scheduled and coming fast!! All are welcome to come watch at the Quarter Circle S (The Prairie Bistro) arena June 23th at 9 am to support our riders 🙂

And for those participating, we will send out any patterns as soon as we get them from the judge!

Update: We're currently at 260 exhibits (50% of last year's exhibits) but still have a long ways to go. I counted this morning--40 4-H'ers don't have ANY exhibits registered yet!!!

Please take a little time to get those exhibits entered in FairEntry today!!

Time is running out to enter your exhibits for the Renville County Fair!

The Deadline to register exhibits in FairEntry is on Wednesday June 10--just 5 days away--and there are only 60 exhibits entered as of Friday afternoon. That means that we have a long ways to go until everyone is registered.

Please make an effort to get started with entering exhibits over this weekend--it's easier for us to answer questions and help out if everyone doesn't wait until 5pm on Wednesday!!

Planning to enter a Foods and Nutrition or Food Preservation exhibit into the fair this year? Check out this updated list with Acceptable and Unacceptable items to make sure that your exhibit is ok for judging and won't be disqualified.

Food and nutrition projects for 4-H exhibits should be prepared with food safety in mind. The importance of food safety cannot be overemphasized. Judges will not evaluate foods they consider unsafe, and you do not want the judges to become ill.
