This fall, North Dakota State University and the College of Agriculture, Food Systems, and Natural Resources (CAFSNR) are hosting different opportunities for students to visit NDSU. These events are intended for current high school juniors and seniors exploring their college and degree options. Both visit options, CAFSNR Saturday Visit and Discover, are half-day experiences that help students and their families tour campus, explore majors, meet professors, and connect with current undergraduates.

One month until 4-H Project Stories are due!

Having trouble getting started with your story? Here are some ideas to get the words flowing:

- Talk to someone (a parent or a friend) about your project. Their questions might give you good ideas of what to include in your story!

- On a separate paper, jot down some notes about how you got started with your project and what you did to bring an exhibit to the fair

- Think backwards from bringing your exhibit to the fair. What were the final steps? What did you do before that?

Remember that Project Stories must be hand-written by the 4-H member and signed by a parent/guardian

4-H Online Enrollment is open for the year!
For returning members, just log in with your existing family account and re-enroll. You can also add new family members (Cloverbuds, parent volunteers) from your family profile.

New members and families can either enroll now or wait until you attend a few meetings and decide which club to join. Feel free to reach out Bethany or Anastasia at the Renville County Extension Office 701-756-6392 with any questions!

North Dakota 4-H Ag Ambassador applications are open for the 2026-2027 year!

Encourage youth ages 16–19 in your club, classroom, community or family to apply. This program is a fantastic way to engage with agriculture and strengthen resumes!

Ag ambassadors will:
- Meet weekly with agriculture professionals and experts to explore the incredible variety of careers available in agriculture.
- Learn about agriculture beyond the farm and discover career opportunities they may not have considered.
- Develop and present an interactive presentation about an agriculture career of their choice.
- Share their presentation at their county fair or achievement day.
- Create a recorded version to share through YouTube and the North Dakota 4-H website.
- Work as a team to develop and submit a Lead2Change project to National 4-H focused on improving North Dakota or improving North Dakota through agriculture.

We're preparing for a new 4-H year! 🍀🛠

North Dakota 4-H Online is closed from August 24-31 for maintenance and updates. It will open again on September 1 when enrollment for the new 4-H year begins.

I know we just finished with the state fair, but Save the Date for the 2026-27 4-H Kickoff and Awards Night on Sunday October 25!

There will be club meetings, fun games & activities, awards for last year's members, and a potluck supper. All new and returning Renville County 4-H families are welcome!

If you were a 4-H member (8 yrs old +)this past year who showed in the county fair, you can submit an application for 4-H Project Story Awards. This is an awesome chance to think back on all that you've accomplished over this year and get some recognition for it!
