Engine 118 with six responding to last night’s structure fire in the Pond Hill section of our Township.

Shortly after Mocanaqua crews cleared a structure box in Shickshinny Borough, Station 118 was dispatched to 359 Pond Hill Mountain Road in the Pond Hill section of Conyngham Township for a reported structure fire.

While units were responding, Chief 218 advised incoming companies of a working fire. Engine 118 arrived just behind Engine 218, and crews immediately went to work.

Crews from 118 stretched a handline from Engine 118 to the second floor and began fire attack operations. The fire was quickly brought under control, and crews remained on scene checking for extension, conducting overhaul, and assisting with ventilation.

Thank you to all responding departments and personnel who assisted on scene. Solid work by everyone involved.

The officers and members of the Mocanaqua Volunteer Fire Company regret to announce the passing of former member Jolene V. Confer.

Jolene joined the ranks of the Mocanaqua Volunteer Fire Company in the early 1990s and served in several roles, including Vice President, Fire Police Officer, and member of the Fire Company’s Ladies Auxiliary.

We are grateful for Jolene’s service, dedication, and support to our company and community.

Please keep Jolene’s family, friends, and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Engine 118 and Ambulance 575 is currently on the scene of a fully involved vehicle fire on Route 11 in Union Twp in the Area of the Boat Launch. Please use caution in the area traveling Northbound.

After crews cleared the scene of a two-vehicle crash in Shickshinny, Station 118 was dispatched to Ricketts Glen State Park for a Wildland Rescue. Crews also assisted at the Landing Zone before being released by 173 Command.
