The Helping Families Initiative has been out in the community, attending local school Open House and Parent Night events! 💙✏️

At these events, HFI connects families with resources to overcome barriers such as:
✔️ Access to family support resources
✔️ Tutoring & academic resources
✔️ Community programs & mentoring
✔️ Assistance with attendance challenges

When parents and the community are actively engaged, students show better attendance, stronger academic growth, and higher achievement. 📚✨

📢 Big News from Helping Families Initiative!

This month, Kentucky state legislators traveled to Circuit 13 – Mobile County’s Helping Families Initiative after reading a summer news article highlighting the incredible impact HFI has had in reducing truancy and chronic absenteeism across local school districts.

During their visit, HFI hosted a comprehensive workshop where our team shared:
✅ How we connect students and parents with critical community resources
✅ How partnerships with schools, courts, and service providers help strengthen families
✅ How we collect, track, and monitor data to ensure every student’s progress is supported

The Kentucky delegation came eager to learn how HFI’s innovative, community-driven approach could be adapted to help families in their own state. Their visit reflects a growing recognition that our model has the potential to influence education and juvenile justice systems nationwide.

We are proud that the work happening in Mobile County is being noticed beyond Alabama—and we look forward to continuing to share strategies that keep students in school, families supported, and communities stronger. 💙📚

🌟 Proud of Case Officers Cammie Hall & Grace Williams from The Helping Families Initiative for their impactful New Teacher Seminar at the University of South Alabama's College of Education! 🎓

They equipped future teachers, graduating in May 2026, with essential tools on classroom management, bullying prevention, internet safety, cyberbullying, and online misconduct. They also emphasized the essential responsibility of serving as mandated reporters and the significance of reporting to DHR.

Thank you for equipping these educators with the tools to create safe and supportive learning environments! Special Thanks to Pamela Patterson for always inviting our HFI case officers to speak to future educators!💪💙

📚✨ First Day of School = First Day of Success! ✨📚

Today, Helping Families Initiative case officers hit the ground running. They visited schools across the district to welcome students back for the 2025–2026 school year!

From smiles at the door to handing out school supplies, our goal was simple: make sure every student starts the year prepared and encouraged.

We believe showing up on day one sets the tone for the entire year and we’re here to support students and families every step of the way. 💙

Here’s to a year full of learning, growth, and great attendance!
