Another major milestone down as Chadley James completed the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten challenge!

He's holding his certificate and favorite book, Little Blue Truck's Halloween.

Earlier this week Ben May Main Library's Connection Center hosted its monthly Veterans Resource Pop-Up, bringing together local organizations and service providers to connect veterans with valuable community resources.

Representatives were on hand to share information and provide guidance on veterans benefits, employment opportunities, housing assistance, behavioral health services, and other support programs.

This initiative is part of the Connection Center's ongoing efforts to strengthen community partnerships, increase access to services, and make the library a welcoming resource hub for veterans and their families.

Library Director Jurée Hall-Mitchell and the MPL wish congratulations 🎉 to all awardees!!

Literacy Coach of the Year, Literacy Teacher of the Year and Literacy Administrator of the Year.

The Metro-Mobile Literacy Council is a professional organization open to all community members who are invested in the promotion of literacy in our community. This includes teachers, parents, principals, librarians, curriculum specialists, literacy coaches, support personnel, students of education, local business leaders, and community members.

The Metro-Mobile Literacy Council received its charter from the International Literacy Association in 1959, before the creation of the Alabama Literacy Association in 1968, making our council the oldest literacy council in Alabama.

Its mission is to promote literacy in the Mobile area as well as at the state and international levels through appropriate projects and programs.

The Moorer Branch Library hosted its annual Trunk-or-Treat on October 24th!

Princesses, monsters, and superheroes alike joined in on the festivities, enjoying lots of laughs and plenty of sweet treats.

The Bookmobile made a stop over the weekend at the annual Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee at Bellingrath Gardens & Home!

We had a fantastic time seeing all the Trick or Treaters and getting into the Halloween spirit!

SARALAND UPDATE:

Special Update to City of Saraland Patrons

Thank you for your patience as the Library and City work together to move through budgetary work sessions related to library services.

Mayor McDonald and Director Hall-Mitchell are committed to citizens of the City of Saraland, and maintaining service levels as in previous years.

The library will honor Mayor McDonald's request not to change services, but to maintain regular library business hours for the upcoming week.
