MSU Landscape Architecture and Environmental Design Preparing future landscape architects and contractors to improve communities, restore habitats, and connect people to the outdoors.

A degree in Landscape Architecture or Landscape Contracting & Management from Mississippi State unlocks abundant pathways for students to DESIGN, BUILD, and GROW a rewarding career that makes a difference and keeps them connected to the outdoors. From urban rain gardens to public parks, Landscape Architects design high-profile landscapes that solve environmental problems and expand access to the outdoors. Landscape Contractors bring those plans to life and manage these living landscapes long-term.

More exciting moments from the Pollinator Garden ribbon cutting at the 71st Annual Ed Martin, Jr. Landscape Symposium. As the plaque reads: "For nearly a century, the enduring partnership of MSU and GCM has cultivated education, stewardship, and appreciation for Mississippi's landscapes and continues to plant the seeds for generations to come." We applaud The Garden Clubs of Mississippi, Inc. and their president Sassy Mauldin (pictured with Anne) for their significant role in enhancing our Pollinator Garden.

The Ed Martin, Jr. Landscape Symposium is always a highlight, but this year's event was extra-special. A huge thank-you to our special guest speakers, to the The Garden Clubs of Mississippi, Inc. for their role in enhancing the pollinator garden, to everyone who hosted garden tours, and to Anne Spafford for hosting a social hour at her home to end the day on a high note. 'Til next year!

Heading to National Association of Landscape Professionals ELEVATE conference next month? If you're an employer or educator, you won't want to miss "Building the Workforce Pipeline through Strategic Industry-Campus Partnerships." Our very own professor Tim Schauwecker, who coordinates the Landscape Contracting and Management program, will lead this timely panel discussion with John Tipton of Rotolo Consultants Inc., Taylor Milliken of Milosi, and Nicole Lee of Landscape Workshop.

ELEVATE, powered by Caterpillar, is where landscape and lawn care professionals come together for three days of practical learning, peer conversations, new solutions and the kind of industry connections that last long after the event ends. We hope you'll join us in Tampa this November!
