Yesterday, I was out canvassing our great City of Mishawaka wearing my replica pair of Ball-Band Red Ball Jets (Fun Fact: my 2x Great Grandfather, Lloyd Biggs retired out of Ball-Band/Uniroyal after 34 years, and worked on the line making Red Ball Jets). While canvassing, I also got 2 additional yard signs placed.

Unlike the complacency all too common in modern politics, I have spoken and listened to hundreds of residents about their concerns about Penn Township. As a lifelong Mishawaka resident who is an active community volunteer preserving our history, I am putting in the work for YOU and YOUR legacies. I am committed to bringing a new voice to the table that will modernize and create a more receptive form of governance while respecting the history of Penn Township.

We are less than 30 days away from early voting, remember to let people know to vote Joshua David Lange for the Penn Township Advisory Board!

Thank you to all my friends, family, and supporters that make this campaign work!

Former Mishawaka Common Council President, John Gleissner, Endorses Joshua David Lange for Penn Township Advisory Board!

By Joshua Lange

Nowadays, political division is at an all-time high. Given the circumstances, few political figures are well liked by all; one such local example of someone that is well respected by all is former Mishawaka Common Council President, John Gleissner.

Mr. Gleissner is a shining example of Mishawaka excellence, devoting his life to serving our community. He was a teacher at the School City of Mishawaka for 38 years (7 years at Bingham Elementary and 31 years at John Young Middle School). While he was a teacher, John Gleissner coached for 27 years (football, basketball, baseball, and golf). My father always told me that he did not like school when he was young but always enjoyed being in Mr. Gleissner’s Social Studies class.

Mr. Gleissner, after teaching for two decades, felt the urge to run for political office to help Mishawaka directly. He ran for city council in 1987 with the platform of wanting to develop Grape Road, appointing the best people to the Mishawaka School Board, and solving the parking lot congestion at Mishawaka High School. John won the 1987 Mishawaka City Council At-Large election getting 1st place out of 6 candidates. This started a political career on the council for 24 years, with him ultimately becoming president of the council. Today, Grape Road is a major commercial hub, the schools are strong, and Mishawaka High School has a large parking lot.

When I was endorsed recently by former Council President Gleissner, this meant a lot to me as multiple generations of my family like thousands of other Mishawakans respect his long career of serving the public as a teacher, a coach, and a councilman. Mr. Gleissner said, “Josh will bring a positive, proactive voice to the board.”

Thank you for your service to our community, and thank you for endorsing my candidacy, Mr. John Gleissner!

Reminder: Early voting starts October 6, so remember to tell your family and friends to vote Mishawaka Democrat, Joshua David Lange for the Penn Township Advisory Board.

Joshua David Lange for Penn Township Advisory Board: Endorsed by Ross Deal!

I am proud to announce that my campaign for the Penn Township Advisory Board has just been officially endorsed by Ross Deal. Mr. Deal is a Mishawaka legend and has lived a life marked by public service to our community and to our nation. He served as a U.S. Marine, a Mishawaka police officer, a Mishawaka City Council member, and as an Indiana State Representative.

While in the legislature, Rep. Deal had a perfect rating by labor unions, fighting to protect workers’ rights, as well as protecting the education system. Former Rep. Deal said that he supports my campaign's plan to bring fair Mishawaka representation to Penn Township and model its form of governance after the ‘Mishawaka Way’.

I first met Ross when I was in the Mishawaka Mayor Youth Advisory Council. I had traveled down to IUPUI with a number of students and Mrs. Hazen for the Accelerate Indiana Municipalities (A.I.M.) Legislative Day. While in Indy, Mayor Dave Wood took us to the Capitol Building, and it was there that Rep. Ross Deal gave us a tour. We went inside the chamber for the Indiana House of Representatives, and we took a photo with him. That trip to Indianapolis showed what dedicated political leadership looks like, and helped inspire me to serve our great township!

Reminder: Early voting starts in less than a month (October 6) so remember to check your voting registration so you can cast a ballot for Joshua David Lange for the Penn Township Advisory Board. Thank you again to Ross Deal for his endorsement!

The Backyard Brawl: Mishawaka vs Penn Football

By Joshua Lange

As an MHS alum, a former JV O-Lineman for the Cavemen (never had the makings of a varsity athlete) and this year being the 100th Anniversary of the field at Steele Stadium, I am excited to watch the Cavemen versus the Kingsmen tonight.

If I were a typical politician, I would say "Even though I am a Mishawaka grad, Penn High School and Mishawaka High School are both schools that represent Penn Township, so I hope they both win."

However, I cannot stand that disingenuous style of posts, so let me draw my line in the sand:

GO CAVEMEN!

Lange For Penn Township Board: Supporter Spotlight

John "Woody" Woodruff is a lifelong Mishawaka resident who has always been active in the community. He grew up in a UAW family, and his father helped organize Wheelabrator as UAW. He is a 1972 Mishawaka High School graduate, a former teacher, a retired dean of students, and is currently a volunteer assistant softball coach for Marian High School. Woody has coached for decades and used to be the commissioner of the Mishawaka Softball League.

Woody is a supporter of my candidacy and is a conservative leaning voter that is willing to cross party lines for my campaign. As Woody puts it, "With the craziness and insanity of national party politics, it's good to see a young person who genuinely cares about our community, and has good common sense. I have known Joshua Lange for years, and he has my backing."

Like thousands of Penn Township residents, Woody will cast his vote for Joshua David Lange, a Mishawaka Democrat in November election for the Penn Township Advisory Board.

Major Labor Endorsement!

I just received an official letter from the St. Joseph Valley Building and Construction Trades Council that I have been officially endorsed for the Penn Township Advisory Board in the General Election!

This is huge as they are "An alliance of 22 affiliated locals representing over 10,000 highly skilled craftsmen and women in Northern Indiana and Southern Michigan."

These are the blue collar people that build America better every single day! Nothing in the modern world would exist without the construction workers that made it possible. As a union member (IBEW 153) I am honored to accept this endorsement.

The St. Joseph Valley Building and Construction Trades are actively providing training for the next generations so they are equipped for the future. As a young person from Mishawaka, my time in a union helped shape me into the man I am today.

Thank you to President Murray Miller and the rest of the leadership for this endorsement!

One last thing to the readers, I would deeply appreciate it if you voted for me, Joshua David Lange, for the Penn Township Advisory Board on or before November 3rd!

Endorsement Announcement!

I am proud to announce that one of the biggest law enforcement voices in St. Joseph County, South Bend Police Chief, Scott Ruszkowski has officially endorsed my campaign.

Chief Ruszkowski is an extremely decorated officer that has served for 38 years. Prior to that, he served honorably in the US Navy; 44 years of service to country and community.

If elected to the Penn Township Advisory Board, I will coordinate closely with future Sheriff Ruszkowski, and first responders to help keep our residents safe.

Scott Ruszkowski had this to say, "Joshua is always on the go, asking questions, finding answers…in tune with folks from every walk of life. Caring about people, and the government that serves us (people) is a win-win for Penn Township and exactly what we need to launch us (people) out of the doldrum and complacency that seems acceptable, and for far too long.
Switch the L in Lange to Ch and it makes perfect sense!"

Thank you Scott Ruszkowski for St. Joseph County Sheriff

Since filing for political office in early February, the outpouring of support has been amazing. As the youngest candidate in St. Joseph County, I feel it is my duty to get Gen Z to vote whether it is for me or for anyone else. Each conversation I have means everything to me as I want to be a Voice for Mishawaka, and that starts with simply listening.

That is why I am always attending events and educating people on what a township board is. I do not blame young people for not even knowing it exists because it is almost invisible. Today in particular was no exception, I met with dozens of young people as well as a lot of constituents, candidates, and friends.

My only request for the person reading this is to remember to tell your family and friends to vote Joshua David Lange for the Penn Township Advisory Board on or before November 3rd so we can give Mishawaka a voice in our township!

This morning I met with the unions at the St. Joseph Valley Building Trades and spoke about my candidacy.

Unions are the backbone of America, and as a union member (Electrical Workers Local 153) I appreciate being able to explain my campaign platform and hear the top issues unions are facing.

I do not take anything for granted and feel it's important to personally earn the endorsement of each union as they are not a monolith. Every union has their own needs and perspectives, and I am here to listen.

A township board position can do more than people realize. If you want change then vote Joshua David Lange, Mishawaka Democrat for Penn Township Advisory Board on or before November 3rd!
