We expect transparency, accountability, and tangible results—not the pursuit of their personal agendas at our expense. Transformation of government for greater accountability to the public it serves has been a constant of Loring's award-winning public relations career of more than three decades. In Boston she is known for leading numerous policy changes and service innovations at the MBTA with per
formance during FIFA (World Cup) and the Tall Ships that ultimately earned the attention and favor of the International Olympics Committee. Later, the CDC entrusted a signature national health advocacy campaign revamp to Loring and her team at Clarity. The outcomes were praised by the White House at a United Nations Special Assembly, with its recommendation that this program be replicated globally. Since settling in Millis in 1987, Loring has been contributing to her community in meaningful ways as a prolific volunteer, creating change and improving transparency. She was a founding member of MERIT, its Local Educational Foundation. She served as only the fifth woman elected to the Select Board in the town's history, notably as Chair during the tumultuous pandemic. In 2022 Loring was inspired to run for State Rep to be a vigorous advocate where a multitude of fiscal policy issues had hurt the residents of Millis and the three adjacent towns of its newly drawn Middlesex 8th District. So effective was her upbeat "Team Orange Crush" campaign of informed original ideas that it drew attention and participation by leaders of the US Congress and State House for oppositional field campaigning, opening the spigot of massive special interest spending. She may have been the underdog, but two years out, Loring remains engaged, informed on policy, and routinely asked to run again (she's not). She serves instead by appointment on the Millis Economic Development Committee which she installed as a new government function to support business and new revenue growth years earlier. She was also one of only two MA residents to testify during the MSBA's statewide policy tour to call attention to proposed new regulations that would limit the voice of towns seeking to finance public school projects. Loring is a retained writer and reputation consultant to executive leaders and organizations seeking stronger messaging and communications strategy for their ideas, purpose, and goals. She was named to the Public Relations Society of America's College of Fellows in 2017, this profession's highest recognition. She was similarly honored by its Boston Chapter of which she is a past president. She was named an "Alumnae to Watch" as part of the UMass Amherst's 125th Anniversary. Beyond broad charitable support, Loring currently serves on the Patient Family Advisory Council of New England Baptist Hospital. Her previous board and community service, exclusive of conference keynotes, includes: UMass Amherst Alumni Association Board of Directors, Hospitality Homes (donated patient and caregiver housing), The PR Club, Millis Council on Aging, Millis Communications & Website Committee, Millis Emergency Management Committee and the Town Administrator Search Task Force.
