FIU Coalition of Students for Reform The FIU Coalition of Students for Reform is a political group of students which aims for a more transparent, accessible and efficient student government.

The FIU Student Government Association is a student advocacy organization meant to represent students, advocate for their concerns, and allocate the Activities and Services budget, which usually exceeds 12 million dollars a year. With all this responsibility, you'd think the majority of students would take part in elections and keep track of those meant to represent them. Yet year after year, only

a small percentage of students vote, and many are completely apathetic to the machinations of a government that is supposed to speak for them. That's why this group exists. We believe that if Students band together and advocate for greater transparency, accountability, and an agenda that speaks to students needs and concerns, more people will be compelled to get involved and Student Government can truly represent all students at FIU.
